- Export the OMCB configuration for the site that needs upgrade as shown in the figure.

- The extracted file will be .XML

Page 3: Add new RSU to ZTE SDR’s

- Use ZTE SDR configuration toolkit to convert (.XML) file to excel sheet (.XLS) as shown in the figure.

- ZTE SDR config toolkit is used to convert ZTE SDR’s from XML to XLS and vice versa.

- When the conversion succeeds, you will get this output.

- Open the excel file. Now from Equipment sheet: modify Rack Topology as shown in the below figure in order

to cascade RSU# 3 to RSU#2 as our example.

Page 6: Add new RSU to ZTE SDR’s

- RU sheet: Add a new coloumn for the new RSU Specify Board Type Fiber port connection. For cascaded RSU’s both must be

served by the same fiber port as seen from our example below.

- RU(Extension): add a new column for the new RSU and modify RSU

number.

- RU(GSM): Add a new coloumn for the new RSU. Modify RSU number. Set a unique carrier group No. Total carrier number (which in our case 2 TRX’s) Set the serving Sector No(sector 1 in our example) Carrier Number dedicated to first sector = Total carrier

number.

Page 9: Add new RSU to ZTE SDR’s

- GSM carrier Add new columns to activate the number of TRX’s in our concerned

RSU that will be known from its carrier group No. in our example we have 2 TRX’s need upgrade, so we need to set

the following: o Sector No.o Logic Carrier Frequency No ( same as TRX number in the logical

sector) o Carrier group number (this number is related to the RSU that will

carry these TRX’s).

• The final step is to include the SDR software version as shown below and the latest software is always recommended.

• Note: if u didn’t do this step the conversion back to XML file is going to encounter a failure.
