Day Movement for Health

ADD LIFE TO YEARS ADD LIFE TO YEARS

World Confederation of Physical Therapy has

started celebrating World Physiotherapy Day

in 1996. The day is an opportunity for Physical

Therapists from all over the world to raise awareness about the crucial

contribution the profession makes to keep people well, mobile and independent.

Physical Therapy Day, then, is dedicated to these professionals throughout the

world, and aims to recognize their commitment to keeping us all fighting-fit.

Physiotherapy addresses orthopedic, neurological, cardiopulmonary and cardiac

problems among infants, children adults and geriatric populations.

On the occasion of World Physiotherapy Day

(8th September), Parul ArogyaSeva Mandal

andParul Institute of Physiotherapy organized

Physiotherapy week during that following

activities were conducted.

1. “A healthy city is an active city” - to fulfill this

purpose Parul Institute of Physiotherapy

organized free Physiotherapy camp during 2nd

week of September at different OPDs run by

Parul ArogyaSeva Mandal.

o At Shreeji Avenue, Jetalpur Road,

Alkapuri.

o Physiotherapy OPD, Hirawanti

Chambers, Opp. Arya

KanyaVidhyalaya.

o Physiotherapy OPD, Parul Maternity

home, opp. DuliramPendawala,

Raopura.

o Parul Sevashram Hospital, Limda

Physiotherapy Department.

The Camp was held during 6th to 11th

September between 9am to 1pm and 5 to 8

pm. Total around 350 Patients get benefited

from the Camp. Leaflets for the camp were

distributed priory with the NEWS papers in

Vadodara city and around Waghodia village.

2. Parul Institute of Physiotherapy organized

woman awareness Programme for

Maintenance of Health and hygiene for

postnatal women and child care at Parul

Maternity Home and Gynaec ward of Parul

Sevashram Hospital.

3. For the Awareness regarding Posture,

Ergonomics and Occupational Problem and

their Physiotherapy treatment Parul Institute

of Physiotherapy Has Organized Informative

session in Each Institute come Under Parul

University on 7th,9th and 10th September.

Students of MPT had Provided Important

information to the faculty Members.

REPORT ON CELEBRATION OF WORLD PHYSIOTHERAPY DAY 8th September 2016

On 8th September, on the occasion of World Physiotherapy Day, Parul Institute of Physiotherapy has organized different Events.

In the Morning session Poster making Competition, Essay competition and Logo Making Competition was organized.

Topic for the Poster making Competition total 16 team and 48 students has participated. They have Prepared Poster on the Theme “PHYSIOTHERAPY ADD LIFE TO YEARS” with their innovative Ideas. Dr. Geetika Patel, Managing Trustee & Medical Director, Parul University Has Judge the Event. Students have briefly explained their poster theme to the judge.

The session was then followed by Essay Competition in which students have written their Innovative ideas on “PHYSIOTHERAPY ADD LIFE TO YEARS” Total 27 students have participated in Essay Competition.

In Logo making Competition around 14 students has participated. They have Prepared Logo based on Physiotherapy Theme. Ms. MayuriDabhi from Faculty of architect has judge the Competition.

In the Afternoon Session Quiz Competition, debate and Prize distribution was organized.

In quiz Competition total 5 Teams have taken Part. They are Having 5 Rounds This includes MCQs, Audio visual, Identify the Author, Identify the disease or condition and Dum Charades. Students have enjoyed a lot in this Competition. There were also questions for Audience.

Topic for the debate was “Is Master degree necessary in the field of Physiotherapy?” Two teams each consist of 5 have present their views in motion of topic and against motion of topic. The

debate was healthy exchange of ideas between the team. Audiences have also enjoyed a lot and ask their doubts to the teams. Judge for the Competition was Dr. Maushmi Debnath.

The Programme End by Prize Distribution to the winners of all Competition. For the Prize distribution ceremony Dr. Ketan Kotecha, Provost of the Parul University was invited. He has appreciated efforts of the staff and students for celebrating this day and making all Events a grand success. He has given away prizes to the winners.

The Programme ended with Vote of Thanks by Principal Dr. Pratik Vakhariya. He has also appreciated all the participants, winners and students.

Physiotherapists help people of all ages to live happier and healthier lives. There is an answer to treat many of the problems you may experience i.e. Physiotherapy. Parul Institute of Physiotherapy has very proudly winded up the day with lots of Positivness for very Bright future with the vision and Motto "Transform society by optimizing movement to improve the human experience. "Thus Physiotherapist in real sense “ADD LIFE TO YEARS.”
