Martha Perez Our guest speaker for February was Martha Perez, owner of Jose’s Restaurant in Jackson. Martha shared her fascinating story with us. Imagine coming to a new country and not even being able to speak the language. That is what Martha did! She learned English in order to get a better job. Jose’s Restaurant is a local favorite and there are many great reasons for that. Martha shared with us many business tips that have contributed to her success. She believes that word of mouth advertising is crucial, and that “You have to keep your name out there”. Martha is very involved in the community with charity functions and television to remind people about her business. Martha encouraged us as a group to support one another and share business ideas that will help us all grow our businesses. Martha has survived many tough times and her advice for us is to think positive and to keep going even when times get tough. When it comes to her staff, they are “like family” to her. She feels that she has the best employees in the county. She promotes a friendly atmosphere in her restaurant and wants every customer to leave happy. Martha is an inspiration to us all. We were lucky indeed to have her share her business savvy with us. Thanks Martha! Page 1 ACWN Newsletter | March 2009

Martha PerezOur guest speaker for February was Martha

Perez, owner of Jose’s Restaurant in Jackson. Martha shared her fascinating story with us. Imagine coming to a new country and not

even being able to speak the language. That is what Martha did! She learned English in

order to get a better job.

Jose’s Restaurant is a local favorite and there are many great reasons for that. Martha

shared with us many business tips that have contributed to her success.

She believes that word of mouth advertising is crucial, and that “You have to keep your name

out there”. Martha is very involved in the community with charity functions and television to remind people about her

business.

Martha encouraged us as a group to support one another and share business ideas that will

help us all grow our businesses.

Martha has survived many tough times and her advice for us is to think positive and to

keep going even when times get tough.

When it comes to her staff, they are “like family” to her. She feels that she has the best

employees in the county. She promotes a friendly atmosphere in her restaurant and

wants every customer to leave happy.

Martha is an inspiration to us all. We were lucky indeed to have her share her business

savvy with us. Thanks Martha!

Will YOU be included in our New Directory??

It’s time to renew your membership for 2009 (if you haven’t already). Work has already begun on our 2009 ACWN Directory. This directory is a helpful way to stay in touch. And it’s a GREAT way to advertise your business to a select group. You must be a current member to be included.

Because we have both a print directory and an online directory, please fill out the “Directory Questionaire” so that we can be certain to get your listing correct. I am attaching a copy of the questionairre to this newsletter. Please fill it out and mail it in or bring it to the next luncheon. Thanks!
