The MDX’s large powerplant delivers more than brute force. It also encompasses advanced performance technology for nearly flawless output. Here, the competing demands of low-end torque and high-end horsepower are balanced through a variable valve timing system that controls engine intake for maximum performance. The result is massive force at low speeds with equally impres-sive horsepower at higher speeds.

To keep excitement levels climbing (along with the tach), the MDX incorporates two specialized breathing systems. A dual-stage intake manifold utilizes two separate air delivery pathways, one at low rpm and one at higher readings, for instant power.
