thOn 28 November, 2015 a reception in honor of Mr. Khalid Saleem Malik Central Chairman PPA and Rai Mansab Ali Kharl Chairman

PPA (NZ) was arranged at Country Club Bahria Town Lahore by N.B Sons (Pvt) Ltd. More than 150 farmers/members of Pakistan

Poultry Association attended the reception. Prof Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha, Vice Chancellor

(UVAS), Dr. Muhammad Mustafa Kamal Former Chairman PPA (NZ), DR. Athar Nazir

(UVAS), Dr. Jibran (UVAS), Dr. Zaheer Tariq, Tahir Nazir (CEO N.B Sons),Raza Mehmood

Khursand,Dr. Arshad Hanif EX- Chairman PPA (NZ), Dr. Ali,Maj (Retd) Syed Javaid

Hussain Bukhari( Secretary PPA) and many other prominent personalities of PPA graced

the occasion. Rai Mansab Ali Kharl (Chairman PPA NZ) appreciated the work and struggle

which the Dr. Muhammad Mustafa Kamal and

Maj (Retd) Ahmed Wasim had rendered for

poultry industry during their tenure. He further said that excellent services and hard work

which Dr. Muhammad Mustafa Kamal has done is remarkable.

Dr. Muhammad Mustafa Kamal was of the view that Mr. Khalid Saleem Malik and Rai

Mansab Ali Kharl are always available to serve the poultry sector even they are Chairmen

or not. They are always found busy to look after the interests of Poultry Farmers, to get

maximum benefits from the concerned

government departments. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha welcomed the newly elected Mr. Khalid

Saleem Malik and Rai Mansab Ali Kharl Central Chairman PPA & Chairman PPA (NZ)

respectively. He admired the services which the previous Central Chairmen Maj (Retd)

Ahmed Wasim and Dr. Muhammad Mustafa Kamal has rendered with full devotion to help

the Poultry farmers of Poultry industry. Raza Mehmood Khursandat this occasion

welcomed the newly elected Chairmen and said that still we need measures to be taken

by farmers to reduce the cost of production. Further he added that PPA is doing great and

well work for the welfare of farmers. All the members associated with this association work together with mutual consent which is

a matter of great honour for us. He showed his keen satisfaction towards the newly elected Chairmen. After that honorary shields

among the Ex and newly Elected Chairmen were distributed.

At the end a delicious dinner was served to the participants of reception.

On16th December, 2015 a reception in honour of Mr. Khalid Saleem Malik Central Chairman PPA and

Rai Mansab Ali Kharl Chairman PPA (NZ) was arranged at Royalton HotelWest Canal Road, AbdullahPur

Faisalabad sponsored by Dr. Ahmed Mustafa (Director Faisal Chicks & Feeds). More than 100

farmers/members of Pakistan Poultry Association attended the reception. This reception was

arranged by Rana Saleem Akhtar (Member Central Executive Committee (PPA), Dr. Abdul Sammad

(Member Zonal Executive Committee (PPA), Rana Rauf Anwar (EX.ZEC

–Member (PPA).

Rai Mansab Ali Kharl (Chairman PPA) and Mr. Khalid Saleem Malik (Central

Chairman PPA), Mr. Raza Mehmood Khursand (former Chairman PPA), Dr.

Muhammad Mustafa Kamal (Convenor Consumer Education Board),

Ahmed Mustafa and many other prominent personalities of PPA graced the occasion.

Mr. Raza Mehmood Khursand (former Chairman PPA),Rana Saleem Akhtar (Member Central Executive

Committee (PPA), Dr. Abdul Samad (Member Zonal Executive Commiitee PPA), RanaRauf Anwar (EX.

ZEC –Member PPA) and Dr. Ahmed Mustafa (Director Faisal Chicks &

Feeds) addressed at the occasion they all were of the view the work and

services rendered by Dr. Muhammad Mustafa Kamal during his tenure were outstanding. He is found

always busy to look after the interests of the poultry farmers, to get maximum benefits from the

concerned Government Departments.

All the speakers welcomed the newly elected Central Chairman (PPA) and Chairman PPA (NZ) and

they were of the view that newly elected chairmen will follow the footsteps of their predecessors to

resolve all the issues confronted by the poultry sector time to time. They all show their full support to

both the newly elected chairmen to step forward to meet any issue to discuss with Federal

Government as well as provincial Government. And the entire industry is standing behind them to

have their full support. They show their satisfaction towards the work being executed by Mr. Khalid

Saleem Malik (Central Chairman) and Rai Mansab Ali Kharl (Chairman PPA NZ).

At the end vote of thanks was given by Dr. Ahmed Mustafa (Director Faisal Chicks &Feeds) in which he thanked all the members

who came on time from distant areas to attend the reception. He welcomed the newly elected Chairmen of PPA. He admired the

services which the previous Chairman Dr. Muhammad Mustafa Kamal has rendered with full devotion to help the Poultry farmers of

To educate the general public regarding nutritional benefits of poultry products, Pakistan poultry association has launched a consumer education campaign. In this regard,

thPakistan Poultry Association participated in three days 26 International conference on thfamily medicine arranged by Pakistan Society of Family Physicians held on 11 , 12th and

th13 December 2015. PPA, booked a stall there and displayed a documentary consisted on the production process from grandparents to layer or broiler, poultry feed, processed chicken and eggs, for three days on its stall.Pakistan Poultry Association displayed the backdrop banner of the conference and placed standees, containing the messages and slogans of healthy chicken and eggs on them. Many Members of PPA also attended the conferenceand they were of the view,PPA must actively tookpart in such conferences. A large number of doctors, physicians, nutritionists, surgeons and medical consultants

attended the conference and through them the message regarding nutritional benefits to human beings was conveyed to the general public.

thOn second day of the conference 12 December, 2015 Mr. Raza Mehmood Khursand (Former Chairman PPA) addressed the conference, in which he said that although at the present stage poultry sector had to face a lot of crises but still it'sproviding the quality meat to the consumers. Poultry sector of Pakistan succeeds in bridging gap between demand and supply of chicken products and consumers need. He further said that poultry sector is providing affordable poultry products to the masses to fulfill the requirements of animal protein that a human body needs. Poultry at present contributes

about half of the total meat consumption and generates employment and income for about 15 hundred thousand people. After that Dr. Abdul Karim Bhatti (scientist PPA) presented a presentation on poultry contributing to food security in which the issues like: Food Security and Nutritional Benefits of Poultry Products were discussed in detail. Why people consume more chicken the main reason is it is affordable, full of protein, tasty and contains nutritionist values. Broiler is such a chicken meat that fulfills the need of protein in a body. We use typical breeding pattern to get eggs and is not a process of few decades but it took 100 years to get this breed of broiler we have today. It is the result of selective breeding. Hybrid bird lays 300 eggs whereas others lay 150 eggs in one year. Now the working in poultry houses is totally changed because of the advancement in technology we use automatic

feeding & drinking system in houses. Advanced and new lighting system is introduced in the poultry houses. It is easy for us to take better care of poultry houses rather to get them treated after any disease if occurs. Bio security system is used in poultry houses is adpoted to avoid infections and diseases. Best monitoring and evaluation is done 24/7.Dr. Abdul Kareem Bhatti clarified with the help of slides that there is no hormone or steroid in poultry feed.Desi bird has low potential as compared to broilers. Feed given to the broilers include soya bean meal, grains etc.On special request Menu Seasons group offered free tasting of their processed chicken dishes to the participants for three days. PPA displayed samples of poultry feed, feed ingredients and their nutritional charts too. Rai Mansab Ali Kharl Chairman PPA (NZ) said that the main purpose to attend this conference was not only to convey the message of the nutritional benefits of poultry products to the general public but also to the doctors from all over the country. In future, we will plan some other programs with the collaboration of Pakistan medical association, so that we can eradicate the misconceptions regarding poultry products from the minds of the general public.

After the presentation of PPA, Mr. Hassan Nasir Jammy and the house highly appreciated working of PPA carried out to replace the bulbs with LED lights of the entire poultry sector.Mr. Jammy said that PPA may create awareness about the technology and can hold seminars at major poultry populated areas in collaboration with ENERCON, so that the project could be started as soon as possible. He said that we have lot of foreign supported funds, which can be utilized in support of small poultry farms.

Work Shop on GEF Funded UNEP-ENERCON Project (Delivering the Transition to Energy Efficient Lighting for Pakistan Poultry Sector)

On 21st December, 2015 a workshop on GEF funded UNEP- ENERCON Project

was held at PC Hotel Lahore. Mr. Khalid Saleem Malik Central Chairman PPA,

Maj (Retd) Syed Javaid Hussain Bukhari Secretary PPA NZ and Dr. Syed Ali

Raza Haider (member CEC)attended the workshop.ENERCON presented a

proposal in which, it was proposed that energy saver bulbs would be replaced

by LED light replacing of Energy saver bulbs

by LED light would save a lot of energy and

money in form of less electricity consumed bills. This workshop was held for

the purpose to deliver the transition to energy efficient lighting in Residential,

Commercial, and Industrial & Outdoor

Sectors in Pakistan. The idea was presented

by ENERCON that in Pakistan we can save

energy in different Industrial and commercial sectors by replacing the energy

saver bulbs with LED Bulbs as they consume less energy as compared to Bulbs

already being used in poultry Industry of Pakistan. Mr. Khalid Saleem

Malik,Central Chairman PPAsaid presented an overview of Poultry Sector and a

brief chain of Poultry Production. He said that we have calculated the existing bulbs being used by the sector as

per following details:

Government of Pakistan.

Dr. Syed Ali Raza Haider and DVM Pharma Group for inviting and organizing

such a grand reception for them. Mr. Khalid Saleem Malik said he is always

available to help the poultry farmers and to provide them maximum benefit

Kamal during his tenure. He appreciated the work which Dr. Kamal has

rendered for consumer education activities.
