1. Swachhta Pakhwada activities under the Villages adoption project implemented through IIT Madras at Nagapattinam :

CPCL kick started the Pakhwada through the following Activities in Vellalpakkam, Gopurajapuram and Panangudi Villages at Nagapattinam. CPCL’s Managing Director Shri S N Pandey, District Collector, Nagapattinam Dr.S.Sureshkumar, IAS, Dr.T.K.Rajasekaran, IPS and IIT Project in-charge Major Padmanaban took part in the activities:

a. Solar Lanterns Distribution for 400 families in Nagapattinam

b. Individual Household Toilets with bathroom Installation in Nagapattinam

c. Solar Street lights Installation (150 Nos.)

d. Water Body rejuvenation (21 Nos.)

e. Waste Collection Cycle and Dustbins Distribution With the objective of inculcating Solid Waste Management practices, CPCL

supplied dustbins and Wastage collection Cycle

f. Bore well Initiation

2. MHC for Safai Karmacharis CPCL Chennai organized “Master Health Checkup” for around 20 safai

karmacharis at the Tamil Nadu Government Multi Super Specialty Hospital, Omandurar.

1. Sanitary Napkins Distribution

Swachhta Awareness talk was given by Mr. M.Sankaranarayanan, CGM (HR&L),

CPCL to villagers at Nagapattinam around 600 people. Smt.S.Malathivijayalaxmi,

DGM (Admin) has distributed Swacchta kit consisting of Sanitary napkin to all

the women participants.

2. Swachhta Elocution Competition - Nagapattinam Around 100 High School children participated in the Swachhta Awareness Competition. The response to “Clean India” competitions for children was extremely heartening on the various topics like cleanliness, Air pollution, saving water, etc., The Prizes were distributed to winners by CPCL Team.

3. Drawing Competitions for children Drawing competitions were conducted for the children on the theme of Clean India. 20 Primary School children participated and impressed one and all with their creativity and understanding of the concept. Prizes were distributed to winners by CPCL Team.

4. Swachhta Pledge Administered Swachhta Pledge was also administered in the Schools by CPCL Team to around 400 students.

5. Dustbins and cleaning materials distribution to Schools at Nagapattinam

With the objective that message of Swachhta reaches all sections of society, CPCL supplied dustbins, cleaning materials etc, to Schools at Nagapattinam

6. Trees Plantation

Trees were planted by Smt S. Malathivijayalaxmi, DGM (Admin) & CPCL Team

in the schools of Nagapattinam.

2. Puppet Show related to Swachhta

A Puppet Show on the topic of “Clean India” was organized in the Govt. High

School, Napalayam, Chennai at around 150 students.

3. Awareness Talk : Talk was given by Shri S Venkateswarulu to create awareness amongst the students to take up Swachhta in all activities.

CPCL Chennai installed “Plastic Reverse Vending Machine” at Birla Planetarium, Chennai on 04.07.2019. CPCL’s Officials Shri R.M.Kshir Sagar, DGM, (Env. Protection & Safety), Smt. S.Malathivijayalaxmi, DGM (Admin), Shri Kaushik Bhar, SM (Admin), officials of CPCL and Officials of Birla Planetarium took part in this activity.

Activities on 06.07.2019 1. MHC for Safai Karmacharis

As part of Swachhta Pakhwada, CPCL Chennai organized “Master Health Checkup” for the safai karmacharis of the Tamil Nadu Government Multi Super Specialty Hospital, Omandurar to around 20 persons on 06.07.2019.

Honorable Minister of Health, Govt. of Tamil Nadu has visited to Multi Super Specialty Hospital, Omandurar and gave a talk on the need to maintain cleanliness as citizens for overall health and hygiene.

2. Reverse Vending Machine Installation:

As part of Swachhta Pakhwada, CPCL Chennai installed “Plastic Reverse

Vending Machine” at Tamil Nadu Government Multi Super Specialty Hospital, Omandurar Chennai on 06.07.2019. CPCL’s Officials Shri S.Krishnan, CGM (Maint.), Smt. S.Malathivijayalaxmi, DGM (Admin) Dr. Vimala, Director, TN Govt Multi Super Speciality Hospital took part in this activity.

3. Swachhta Activity in Cauvery Basin Refinery, Nagapattinam

CPCL, Nagapattinam conducted an awareness drive at the Government high School, Nagapattinam. Children were highly engaged in the talk which focused on issues like avoid plastic, segregate waste and recycling. Pledge, Clean drive and Swachhta Competition were also administered to around 150 students of the School on 06.07.2019. DGM (CBR), CM (P&A) CBR and other Officials took part in these activities.

1. Medical Camp for Safai Karmacharis CPCL Chennai organized Medical camp for Safai Karmacharis, in co-ordination

with Rotary club in Chennai on 07.07.2019. The camp provided free Eye check-

up, dental check-up and general checkup to around 125 patients. Earlier Mrs.

Pandey, spouse of MD CPCL, inaugurated the Medical camp.

CPCL Chennai assistade the state education Department to construct school toilets in Ekkakudi, Partibamur, P Valasai & Kalavazhiyendal at Ramanathapuram District, an aspirational district. Shri M.Sankaranarayanan, CGM (HR& L) inaugurated these Toilets.
