2. Faculty invited as a Resource Person
Dr. S. Manoharan was invited as a key note speaker for a National Conference organized by Sankara
College of Science and Commerce, Coimbatore on the 7th February 2019. There were about 60
participants along with 180 students for the program.

Dr. B.N. Shubha was invited as Panellist at Education Conclave - Global Institute of Management
Sciences on 22 Feb, 2019. Around 100 people participated in this conclave.

Dr. S. Manoharan was invited on 27th February 2019, to deliver a session on “Creating Tomorrows
Business Leaders: The Role of Management Institutions” organized by Sri. Vidya Mandir College of
Arts and Science, Uthangarai, Tamil Nadu. The audience comprised of their Management graduates
and faculty of the Management department.

from in and around Bangalore.

Dr. S. John Manohar and Dr. S. Manoharan were invited as a resource persons for the workshop titled
“Narrative Review-Application to meaningful publications and Thesis writing organized by Jain College,
V.V.Puram, Bangalore on 30/03/2019. The workshop was attended by 60 research scholars from in
and around Bangalore and 30 post graduate students from Chintamani.

Second semester student Mr. Mohammed Suhail B H. Secured first place in VTU Inter- collegiate zonal
volleyball tournament 2019-20 which was held at the Oxford college of engineering, Bangalore from
8-03-19 to 9-03-19.

Dr. Leena .S was invited to render a talk on "Ways and Means of imbibing values to school
students" at the All India Teachers Training Programme at CREST Research Centre, on 14th
April 2019. Around 40 school teachers all over the India had participated in this workshop.
Other Activities
QUEST 2019 was held on April 4 and 5, 2019 with 25 participating teams with 140 participants
The inaugural was held at the Auditorium in the Platinum Jubilee Block, with Mr. V V Eshwar
Prakash, Ex Deputy Director, ISRO as the chief guest and presided over by Vice Principal, Dr.
Ravishankar Deekshit. He enlightened ISRO’s contribution to defence and how it is striving to
make common man’s life better through their research. He also appreciated the thoughtfulness
of BMSCE for choosing socially relevant themes enabling the students to think beyond
academics and employment.
Quest 2019 had seven different events namely Marketing, Finance, HR, Business Quiz,
Leadership, Business Plan and CSR. Each of these events was a unique blend of concepts and
the theme testing the business acumen of the participants.
The rounds in each event were designed to test the contestants’ abilities in the field of
management and their responsiveness towards critical situations in business.
QUEST 2019 concluded with the valedictory on 5th April which was presided over by Principal,
Dr. B. V. Ravishankar. The winners and runners up in each event were given trophies,
certificates and cash prizes. The overall champions were Presidency College, Bangalore which
bagged the overall champions trophy and the rolling trophy.

IV Sem MBA students who obtained “Managerial Counselling” Certification course
Certification course on “Managerial Counselling” was conducted by Mrs. Anitha, a skilled facilitator
and a change agent in behavioural skills. The course was conducted for 1 credit discussing various
topics like issues in counselling, Micro skills required for counselling, need for counselling at
workplace and so on. The course was coordinated by Dr. Shubha Muralidhar,

Practitioner Course was scheduled from 8th
April to 12th April 2019 for MBA students
and faculties, of BMS College of
Engineering by Henry Harvin Education at
the Seminar Hall-1 in the new building
within the Campus. Mr. Sumantha Biswas
was the resource person for the Program.
Dr. Minu Zachariah was the coordinator for
the Program. Around 42 students and 5
faculty members of MBA Department
attended the Program. The course consisted
of 32 hours class room based training and
certification program that equipped
participants to explore, analyze and solve
business problems using analytical tools
such as R & Advanced Excel. Besides this,
case studies were discussed during the
training session to give hands-on
experience to the students. Henry Harvin
Academy also has provided them12-
months/24-hours Live-Online 'Project
Experience' Sessions and 1-Year
Membership of Henry Harvin® Analytics
Academy to enhance their skills in
Analytics.
