Discover San Sebastian with a guided tour around the traditional city’s sweets Chocolates, candies, pastries… we’ll do three stops in the most famous bakers of the city where we`ll taste the most emblematic sweets. The tour will we will enjoy a delicious hot chocolate with churros.

Among its specialties we can find the “txintxorros”, almond biscuits with candied orange and a thin layer of crunchy almond above and “donostiarras”, biscuits made with egg, milk, sugar, flour and almonds.

This is the best way to learn about the basque food. We’ll visit the traditional Bre-txa Market with a professional local guide. There, we’ll learn how to buy the best local and seasonal products. After that, we’ll enjoy a local products tasting at our Delicatessen Shop. This is a great introduction to our Gastronomy, with products coming directly from our farmers.

Experience: Cider experience

Where: Sidrería Petritegi (Astigarraga)

Program:

A complete guided tour in Petritegi which will let us approach the « sagardoa » world visiting those most unknown places. While on this tour you will enjoy a walk around the apple orchards and you will learn about pollination, fermenta-tion process, presses, etc. by watching an audiovisual documentary.

Surrounded by apple orchards, Petritegi is located in the village of Astigarraga, in the heart of Basque cider country. The cider farm is the result of a cider making tradition at the Petritegi farmhouse, which dates back to before 1558. Natural Petritegi cider has evolved from 18 century to the present day.

After the tour, you will enjoy the tasting of different quality of ciders together with a red sausage «pintxo» This tour ends with a Typical Cider House Menu.

Experience: Fishermen Villages – Txakoli

Where: Getaria, The Basque Coast

Program:

Getaria, the village where still women wait for the fishing boats to mends the nets. A small walk along it streets to discover great stories such as Juan Sebas-tian Elcano’s biography, who was born here: sailor, navigator and explorer best remembered for leading the second half of the first round-the-world navigation. Your first stop is at Maisor Anchovy Factory, situated just in the port, where you’ll attend a complete guided visit while enjoying the possibility of attending live the manufacturing procedure and to end with, a complete tasting of three pintxos with a glass of Txakoli.

Back to the bus and up the surrounding mountains, to discover tens of txakolicellars and a stop at a winery with the centennial tradition of growing the vines in Getaria. Txakoli is a young, fruity white wine, typical in Gipuzkoa’s gastronomyand elaborated from local grapes. Vistors will enjoy a guided tour through the cellar, explaining the whole production process plus a tasting of txakoli.

Every Wednesday, the traditional Ordizia market becomes a meeting place for buyers and sellers of agricultural and farming products from the region. The mar-ket is sheltered by a structure supported by thick columns, and visitors will be greeted with a wide variety of stands selling all types of items: Idiazabal cheese, fruit, vegetables, and an endless selection of fresh, top-quality goods.
