This year, the walking group we deliver in partnership

with the National Marine Aquarium, will be celebrating its 7th birthday!

We will be marking the occasion with a little get together at the Aquarium on Friday 16th December. On that day we will be delivering both the and the walk in the morning.

There will be no afternoon walk that week.

After both of the walks have been completed we will be getting together at the aquarium for drinks and nibbles in celebration! We will also be handing out certificates to our long standing

walkers to mark their achievements over the last year. If you have been involved with the walking group in the past we would love to see you there….all walkers old and new welcome!

Date for your diary! Monday 12th December 2016 Join us at our Christmas themed dance session in partnership with:

Where? Plymouth Life Centre

Time? 1.00pm to 2.00pm

Lots of festive fun - all welcome!

Plymouth Argyle is now supporting us with coaching at our football sessions! This means players will now have the opportunity to join the competitive Plymouth Argyle

Disability Team if they wish. Come along and join us on a Tuesday and

Thursday, 11.00am to 12.00pm at the Nancy Astor Sports Centre. It costs £3.00 per session.

On 10th September, staff, volunteers, members from Active for Life and Ridley's took on a 17.6 mile walking challenge - and a challenge it certainly was!!

In total the team managed to walk a grand total of 197 miles and raised a very impressive:

A special thank you must go to the National Marine Aquarium and the New Continental Hotel for keeping us fuelled up and providing us with refreshments and rest stops along the way!

£1475.67 This will greatly help to support our vital work. Thank you!

At the end of September volunteers and staff from Active for Life, Ridleys and Carers Hub teamed up together to run the Harewood House Community Café in Plympton. The team sold teas, coffee, homemade cakes and sandwiches in a bid to raise money for Plymouth Guild services.

There was bric-a-brac for sale, along with a selection of homemade jams and knitted items. Each day the team worked tirelessly each lunchtime preparing sandwiches and ensuring there was enough cake for everyone!

THANK YOU TO OUR AMAZING

VOLUNTEERS!!!

Santander in Plymstock kindly offered to match fund our efforts for the week, so in total the team

managed to raise a fantastic £976.44!

Thank you so much to our volunteers, and a special thank you must go to Sue for all of the

hard work she put into organising the café crew and food for the week! Your achievements are

amazing!

Ideas Please!
