World Market for Medical Applications
Fixed and durable medical sensors are gradually giving way to disposable ones that cost less and, at the same time, are more hygienic.
This increasing demand for the throwaway sensors and sensor-based equipment is in turn boosting the medical sensor market. With the price of medical sensors ranging from $20-$25,000, low cost and high volume sales have become the key to remaining competitive in the disposable sensors market. Environmental Monitoring

Nanotechnology in Battery Materials
Anode Material
Synthesize tin nanoparticles encapsulated elastic hollow carbon spheres (TNHCs). The theoretical specific capacity of Li4.4Sn is 992 mAh/g and much higher than that of conventional graphite LiC6 at 372 mAh/g.
Separator Material
Porosity is one of the key parameters in building higher performance separators. This prototype film with a 51% porositycompared to 37% in current production batteries maintains the same strength and thermal integrity.
Cathode Material
The thinness of the film and the small size of the nanorodsfacilitate a new active material that can accommodate even faster chemical reactions and produce even more power

“Batteries working with energy harvesting. While there is the likelihood of competition between the TF batteries and energy harvesting, there is also the strong possibility of cooperation between the two technologies. By making the batteries rechargeable through energy harvesting, the battery used can be smaller and of a lower capacity.”
