While most of the region shows stagnant growth rates, Bolivia’s GDP has been growing constantly by more than 5% since 2011. Inflation rates (5%), public deficit (17% of GDP) and foreign reserves (14.8 Billion USD) are well under control. Since the nationalization of the hydrocarbon sector in 2006 and the electricity sector in 2009, the investment climate in Bolivia has become much more favorable. President Evo Morales and his administration know that they depend on foreign technology and investments to cope with rising energy demand. In this context, renewable energy plays a very important part in the electricity plan of the „Patriotic Agenda 2025“: Until 2020, an additional 400 MW of renewable energy capacity is foreseen to be installed, adding up to over 1 billion USD of investments. During his visit to Germany in November 2015, President Morales signaled clearly that German technology would encounter open doors in what still is a new and fairly undiscovered market in Bolivia: renewable energy. It is a pleasure to invite you to our business delegation visit and specialized workshop where we will explore these opportunities. The goal of the event is to provide exclusive information on wind, solar, hydro and biomass projects that will be available in the short and medium term – tenders by the national electricity company ENDE and its subsidiaries (see attached project list) as well as many rural electrification projects from local governments, with a high potential for hybrid solutions. You will have the chance for in-depth discussions on opportunities and obstacles with the ENDE Group, the energy ministry and local experts. We will provide inside and first-hand information on upcoming projects and advise you on the best strategies to position your company. And we will offer visits to current projects sites where the responsible companies are willing to share with you their renewable energy experience and plans in Bolivia. The participation fee in this two-day workshop is 999,- Euros. For registering, please fill out the attached form. We are looking forward to having you in Santa Cruz. ¡Bienvenidos a Bolivia!
