CBSE to do away withre-evaluation of answer

sheets from 2017NEW DELHI, Oct 4:

The Central Board of Secon-dary Education has decided to dis-continue the provision of re- eval-uation of answer sheets from 2017.

However, officials said somesystem will still be in place forredress of genuine cases.

Senior CBSE officials toldmediapersons here that since2014, re-evaluation of answersheets was done in around 10 sub-jects for class XII examinations.

However, the actual numberof students who applied for re-evaluation was only around 1.8per cent and the number of ben-eficiaries even less, a seniorofficial said.

“Keeping these in mind, theCBSE has decided to do awaywith the system of re-evalua-tion,” the official said.

CBSE chairperson R KChaturvedi said the GoverningBody of the board has given itsassent to the decision of doingaway with re-evaluation.(PTI)
