Hello Garry, Will this new Liberal government take the right steps to alleviate the pressures of poverty in so many of our communities? When the federal government called an election back in August, ACORN Canada leaders sent out a request to the leading federal parties asking them about their position on our national campaigns. This platform comes from grassroots organizing efforts that resulted in over 250 local meetings in 22 chapters across the country. Over 4000 ACORN Canada members participated in those meetings, and over 8000 low-income community members were involved in the process to identify local issues and examine how they fit into federal policy. The responses we received informed the vote of many of our members in low-income neighbourhoods. And now that the election is over, we need your help to mobilize thousands of ACORN members to target federal cabinet ministers and MPs for lobby visits, petitioning, media events, email and letter campaigns, and other grassroots strategies for change! Click here to pitch in $10, $15, or $20 to build power and mobilize thousands of ACORN Canada to hold the new government accountable! For over a decade ACORN Canada members have been working to systematically combat the cycles of poverty that affect our communities. The most effective tool to achieve justice for working families is to bring low- and moderate-income people together and pressure decision- makers into positive social change. For years we have run successful grassroots campaigns targeting negligent landlords, banks and predatory lenders, money transfer institutions, the telecom industry, unlivable wages, and much more. Everyday we organize in low-income neighbourhoods to make sure that the families in our communities have a voice in this country.

Hello Garry,

Will this new Liberal government take the right steps to alleviate the pressures of poverty in so many of our communities?

The most effective tool to achieve justice for working families is to bring low- and moderate-income people together and pressure decision-makers into positive social change. For years we have run successful grassroots campaigns targeting negligent landlords, banks and predatory lenders, money transfer institutions, the telecom industry, unlivable wages, and much more. Everyday we organize in low-income neighbourhoods to make sure that the families in our communities have a voice in this country.

Now that the Liberal Party has won a majority in government, we are mobilizing thousands of ACORN members to hold them to account for their promises, because using the power of united communities to pressure decision-makers into action is exactly what we do best.

We can't do this without you! Help us build our grassroots mobilizing campaign to hold the Liberals accountable.

Sincerely,

Marva Burnett President, ACORN Canada
