JOB READY PROGRAM ACN students are able to attend the free employment seminars throughout the semester. ACN has contracts with the multi billion dollar global human resource consultancy, Hudson, to help ACN students better develop their portfolio of skills that make them “JobReady”. Previously known as “Monster Worldwide” Hudson is also one of the foremost recruitment agencies in Australia. Hudson has a global presence in North America, Europe and Asia and is well positioned to support the skill development of ACN Graduates.

Some of the topics of the employment seminars held are: 1) “How to prepare a market ready resume which is important and powerful”2) “Network & Self Marketing in the job market” 3) “How to interview successfully”

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM “We get you working before you even graduate!”

ACN offers the ACN Internship program free of charge to our students.*1 Normally, comparable services cost close to AU$2000.*2 This service improves students’ employment opportunities by providing them with a structured voluntary unpaid employment opportunity in a meaningful position either during, or immediately after, studying at ACN.

ACN places students in jobs directly related to their studies. Interns are placed in banks, local government councils, government regulatory bodies, multinational companies, resorts and hotels, logistics companies, newspapers and media companies amongst others. In the second or third year of study at ACN, students apply to us to undertake an internship. An external consultant places our students in the internship program. The work is voluntary although some companies may provide a stipend. The internship duration is tailor-made for our students. For example it could be one month full-time or one day a week part-time for six months.

GRADUATE (EMPLOYMENT) PLACEMENT

ACN has recently launched a new initiative by forming a relationship with recruitment firm Alliance, one of Australasia’s largest and most respected ASX-listed recruitment companies. Alliance’s speciality is the delivery of permanent and temporary accounting, financial services and business support professionals to many leading organisations. ACN students will gain benefits with ACN Alliance as we introduce “Graduate Placement” where Alliance will come onsite to interview prospective graduates for employment opportunities. ACN will also be working with Alliance to make available short-term career-related employment opportunities to students.

CASUAL JOB PLACEMENT

ACN has signed on with Stedmans Hospitality to assist students find part-time work to support themselves while they study. Stedmans have been providing their clients with distinguished and professional service for twenty years and Stedmans staff are the first choice for Sydney’s premier event companies, caterers, venues and private clients. Stedmans provides professionally trained staff, qualified for work in all facets of the hospitality sector.

Each semester ACN host an interview session conducted by Stedmans so that our students have an opportunity to gain casual employment in the hospitality industry. ACN students are signed on in-house for casual work. Those students that Stedmans identify as having limited or no experience in hospitality are given a free day training course with Stedmans Training, a professional training school which delivers the most up to date and relevant Industry courses in Australia. These services are available to all ACN students.

STUDENT’S COMMENT My Name is Leo. I am a student of La Trobe and I have been studying at ACN/ La Trobe for 1 year. Studying with La Trobe is a great experience and the course is good and there are a lot of social activities,too. Importantly ACN also assists with job placement. I attended the seminar and was able to find a job through this service. I am now working in the hospitality industry and I love it. The wage is pretty good, too. I hope everybody will use and benefit from this service with ACN.
