‘Clowning around’ nets $1/4 Million for Community FoundationA juggler juggled, a unicyclist wove in and out, and the lively strains of Triola greeted the sold-out crowd arriving at Grant Hall, Saturday, May 5th for CFKA’s gala with a difference, Under the Big Top: Our Community Showcase. A spirit of fun and philanthropy prevailed, netting over $250,000 in proceeds, $45,000 of which goes to two endowed funds: Penguins Can Fly, a YMCA Y Knot Abilities Program which encourages children with physical disabilities to achieve success in the pool, and a new CFKA Fund, Feed the Hungry – supporting local food sharing initiatives. The Foundation’s reserve funds and operations also benefit from an infusion in challenging economic times when our work is more critical than ever.

Countless acts of generosity from the folks named on this page inspired the Big Top Committee – watch for our fall issue of Ripples for more stories!
