Why did we pursue accreditation so quickly?
•Good for business
•Credibility of the service
•Professionalism
•“Why wait” mentality
Preparation, Preparation, Preparation
•Full team involvement
•Meetings and opportunities
•Beyond the OH front door
•Allow plenty of time
•Talk to neighbouring OH units and colleagues in regional groups
•Share protocols
•Use the quality facilitator
Sourcing the Evidence
•What will demonstrate that you are doing this right?
•Enlist help of IT, Finance, HR.
•Consider what formats you want to use – does it need to be a policy? Can a flow chart or a statement provide evidence you need?
•There is a lot of information you could use so be selective
•If submitting a large Trust wide policy highlight the section which is relevant and you want the assessors to focus on.
