“Feedstock recycling (or chemical recycling) means a process changing the chemical

structure of plastic waste, converting it into shorter molecules, ready to be used for new

chemical reactions.”

“Examples of suitable streams for feedstock recycling include laminated and composite

plastics, low quality mixed plastics streams and contaminated plastics.”

carboliq-resouce:

storable Resource in a well-known format

• Extended analysis over long period

• REACH-Registration proves “end-of-waste”

• Suitable for the chemical/petrochemical industry

#4 Closing Remarks

22

Benefits Necessary development

Genuine material circularity of end-of-use-

plastics

Production of virgin-grade recycled

products

Utilization of low-quality plastic fractions

not suitable for mechanical recycling

Creates a positive impact by adding value

to waste

Decreases carbon footprint of plastics

Chemical recycling should be discussed in

politics

Products of chemical recycling should be

considered in relevant legislation

Requirement of R&D incentives and/or

financial support

More interconnection is needed between

relevant stakeholders

Improvement of collection and sorting

systems
