Background of Project
“The Survey on Energy Saving by IT” was launched under contract from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry as part of the Asia Knowledge Economy Initiative, with the aim of reducing energy consumption in Asia.
A future-oriented cooperative project to build an advanced knowledge-economy zone based on Japan’s experience and know-how

The Survey on Energy Saving by IT is a practical project to enhance the use of IT in economic activities. To help reduce energy
consumption in Asia. 2009: The project started with four
companies. 2010: Participants increased to
eight. 2011: A consortium was formed. 2012: Four companies undertook
surveys mainly in Malaysia.
