ACFI�EXTERNAL�MEETINGS

Mr. KS Kunwar, Director General, ACFI attended the workshop on “India-United States Workshop on Trade Facilitation” held on 17th October, 2016 at The Metropolitan Hotel, Bangla Sahib Road, New Delhi. This workshop was organized by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

The key objective of this one-day Workshop was to provide a platform to stakeholders for discussing different aspects of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement and its implications. The workshop also given an opportunity to industry representatives/experts from India and USA to take up trade facilitation issues with Governments and provide their recommendations towards improving the ease of doing business.

On behalf of Air Cargo Forum India (ACFI), Mr. Yashpal Sharma, Hon. Secretary – ACFI and Director – Skyways Air Services Pvt. Ltd. and Mr. Venugopal Bangera, CEO – Delhi Cargo Service Center Pvt. Ltd. attended the workshop on “Building Awareness on Aligning Skill Development in the Civil Aviation Sector with the National Skill Qualication Framework (NSQF)” held on 20th October, 2016 at the Hotel Ashok, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. This Workshop was inaugurated by Shri Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati, Hon'ble Minister for Civil Aviation, Govt. of India, in the presence of Shri Jayant Sinha, Hon'ble Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Hon'ble Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Shri Rajiv Nayan Choubey, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Senior economic advisor Dr. Renu Parmar and Shri Rohit Nandan, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.

In this workshop Mr. Yashpal Sharma and Mr. Venugopal Bangera gave a presentation about the various initiatives that ACFI has taken for Skill Development in the air cargo industry and the plans on the future enhancements of these initiatives.

MOCA's all Stakeholders meeting for Budget 2016-17

Mr. Yashpal Sharma, Hon. Secretary - ACFI attended the meeting called by MOCA, chaired by Hon'ble Minister of Civil Aviation, Shri Ashok Gajapati Raju. The meeting was held with Stakeholders in the aviation sector on the issues/ suggestions for budget 2017-2018 and was held on 25th October, 2016 at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan, Safdarjung Airport, New Delhi. The said meeting was also attended by the MOS Mr. Jayant Sinha and Secretary Mr. Rajiv Nayan Choubey, Dr. Renu Parmar along with some other members of the Ministry of Civil aviation and senior industry personnel.The Hon. Minster seeked members of the fraternity to put forward to the ministry some out of the out of box or transformational ideas that could be taken up by the ministry with the Ministry of Finance for possible inclusion in the forthcoming budget for the next Financial year. ACFI has committed to collaborate with the members of the aviation industry to put forward its suggestions on the subject.

AAI Launches Air Cargo, Logistics Subsidiary

“Airports Authority of India announced Corporatization of its Cargo Department into an

independent cargo subsidiary “AAI Cargo Logistics and Allied Services Company Ltd”. All

the activities currently being carried out by Cargo Department of AAI will be merged in the

new company. It would provide cargo handling and related value added services at

airports in India and abroad including ground handling services, documentations,

transport services for carriage of bonded and non-bonded cargo and screening services.

on 25th October at Taj Hotel, Delhi.”

1 The 4th ACFI Board Ofce Bearers Meeting held on 14th Oct' 2016 at DCSC Ofce,

Cargo Terminal-2, IGI Airport, New Delhi and discussed various important issues. This

meeting was chaired by Mr. Tushar Jani, President - ACFI and other members attended the

meeting namely; Mr. Yashpal Sharma, Hon. Secretary - ACFI, Mr. Ramesh Mamidala, Hon.

Treasurer - ACFI, Mr. KS Kunwar, Director General - ACFI, Mr. DR Juyal, Director - ACFI and

Mr. Brijesh Kumar Sharma, Ofce Assistant - ACFI. In this meeting were discussed following

Air Cargo Logistics trade related issues:

• ACFI recommendation on “Cargo Dwell Time Reduction Road Map” needs to be

nalized.

• MoCA has assigned following tasks to ACFI:

* Standardization of Domestic Air Cargo in India Draft Recommendations has been

prepared & sent to members

* To prepare a document on the concept of Advance Cargo Information (ACI) widely

enforced in US & EU countries and the relevance of the same to our country keeping in

mind that the Civil Aviation Policy para 20.f says that ''Advance Cargo Information (ACI)

system will be implemented in a phased manner
