Vice-Chancellor’s Desk

The foregoing six months were very enriching for Karnataka State Law University. The University has been accredited with ‘A’ Grade by NAAC, which is a matter of pride & dignity for the institution. The University successfully organized the fourth Kannada State Level Moot Court Competition apart from conducting several socially beneficial activities like Legal Aid and Legal awareness programmes. Besides, several distinguished scholars, judges, jurists and learned men from public life visited KSLU and addressed the staff and students. The Tiranga March, Vanamahotsava celebration and Swachhta Pakhwara instilled patriotic zeal among the students and staff alike. The Teachers of KSLU’s Law School represented the University at various academic platforms and shared their ideas and experiences. The University in its effort to excel, harmoniously blends academic, cultural, outreach programs, health awareness programs, Moot Court competitions and Sports, keeping in mind the wholesome development of the students.

Anil Kumar, Syndicate member, KSLU, Hubbballi while addressing the students said that cultivating humility, good culture and acquiring knowledge is more important than acquiring a mere degree in law,Shri Venkatesh Kulkarni, advocate, Dharwad addressed the students on social responsibilities of students. Workshop on Digital India held on 26.10.2016

Dr. B. S. Anami, Principal, KLE Institute of Technology, inaugurated the workshop and opined that Digital India, Make in India and Startup India programmes aim at transforming citizens into Digital netizens, under which access to information knows no barriers. More than 220 students from various colleges and 10 NSS officers participated and were benefitted by it. NSS Regional Directorate Youth Officer Shri D. Catrihigueane, Center for E-Governance SeMT Consultant Dinesh Krishnan were present. Various competitions were held to mark the occasion.

Mass Door to Door Legal Awareness Programme at Shriram Nagar, Dharwad on 02-11-2016

Principal District and Sessions Judge V. Shreeshananda inaugurated the program and Shri S. B. Bommanahalli, Deputy Commissioner spoke about importance of the legal awareness. Pamphlets regarding the rights of citizens were distributed, and the residents were made aware of various legal issues by students of KSLU’s Law School, who actively participated in the campaign. The residents were benefitted by the programme.

Awareness Programme on the occasion of World Diabetes Day on 14-11-2016

A team of Doctors from Indian Red Cross Society, Dharwad in association with KSLU, visited the University and created awareness about diabetes. Dr. Karpurmath Rtd. Surgeon, Dharwad spoke about the dos and don’ts to avoid diabetes and ways of maintaining sound health.

It was inaugurated on 29th November 2016 by Shri. B. S. Honnaswamy, Senior Civil Judge and Member Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Shri. C. L. Nagaraj, President, Kannada Sahitya Academy, was the special invitee. Dr. Hanumanthaya, Principal of the college presided over the function. 350 students from 13 colleges participated in the event.
