Receive and Review the Student Aid Report (SAR)If corrections are needed, make changes at www.fafsa.ed.gov. If the front page of the SAR indicates that you will have to submit financial documents to the Financial Aid Office, your application has been selected for verification. Complete the verification process as soon as possible so your financial aid is not delayed.

Financial Aid AwardsNew students must be admitted to the University before receiving an award package. If you have questions regarding your admission, contact the Admissions Office where you attend. Notification of award is sent to the student via his/her saintleo.edu email address. The student will be instructed to view his/her award package on eLion.

Accepting a Federal Direct LoanGo to eLion (https://elion.saintleo.edu), under the Financial Aid section, click on Accept or Reject My Financial Aid Awards, and follow the instructions. Federal loan borrowers must complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Counseling at www.studentloans.gov. To reduce the loan amount awarded, submit a Request to Change Loan Amounts form. This form is available in eForm on the student portal.

COMMON BODY OF KNOWLEDGEThe Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) for all Donald R. Tapia School of Business majors provides the academic background to understand the economic structure of our global society. Those who enter the competitive market for scarce resources must be prepared to support public and private segments of our society. PROGRAM OVERVIEWThe major in accounting is designed to prepare a university graduate for entry-level accounting positions in profit, not-for-profit, and governmental environments. The program establishes a foundation for students who wish to continue their education to become a certified public accountant (CPA) or certified management accountant (CMA). Accounting graduates are prepared to enter the business world with excellent analytical and ethical decision making skills.

Students planning on taking the CPA examination should contact the state board of accountancy in the state where they plan to take the certification examination for eligibility requirements.
