Why Barangay Land Management and AllocationProcess?
As the lowest political unit, barangay LGUs play acrucial role in the enforcement and implementation ofCLUP and other development plans of themunicipality or city.
The barangay land management and allocationprocess helps to coordinate forestland managementwithin the barangay boundaries , while resourcemanagement plans of all tenure holders must beconsistent with the agreed proposed landuse and itsmanagement prescriptions.
The CBFMMP with GIZ EnRD is testing barangay based ResourceManagement Planning in the support of Co-Management of forestlands

Good Practices:
1. The networking and partnerships with government partners in NegrosOriental, other development programmes implemented by NGO andacademe in the province as well as other programmes of GIZ is an initiative thathelps achieved CBFMMProject goals. The networking with GIZ on SCOPE projectand Value Links has started chain of activities that could lead to more viableoptions in linking the farmers and POs with buyers and socially responsibleenterprises. Study tours to CENRO Ayungon and SagipSaka project implementedin La Libertad as well as NESTLE Philippines in Tagum have provided ideas ofimproved techniques in forestry and agroforestry practices.
At the same time livelihood component has conducted tours to gather knowledgeand contacts on aquaculture operations in Bohol and private sawmill operators inBayawan. Many of these knowledge exchange events can be organised locallywithout big cost and extensive preparation.
2. The initial work with Provincial Forest Land Use Assistance Team (PFAT) has
resulted to improved and uniform tools for undertaking FLUP preparation. The discussions on FLUP assistance have strengthened the relationship with theprovince and its departments namely; Environment and Natural ResourcesDivision (ENRD) and Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO
