Accessing a Virtual Desktop Remotely Using VMWare
View Client on a Windows Computer
1. Open the following website: https://mypc.mercer.edu
2. Click the View Client for Windows link.
3. In the product group named VMware View Client for Windows, click the Go to Downloads button for
your version of windows. If you are unsure which one to download, try the VMware View client for 64‐bit
Windows first.
4. Click the Download button in the lower‐right corner of the page.
Note: The next 2 steps may vary depending on your web browser and version of Windows, but basically, you need
to run the file after clicking the Download button.
5. Click the Run button to download and launch the installation program.
6. Click the Run button to allow the installer to launch.
7. After a few minutes, the installation wizard should open. Click Next.
8. Accept the terms of the license agreement and click Next.
9. Click Next.
10. Enter the following Default View Connection Server: mypc.mercer.edu
11. Click Next.
12. Click Next.
13. Click Next.
14. Click Install.
15. Click Finish.
16. Click Yes to reboot your PC.
17. After your PC has rebooted, launch the VMware View Client from the desktop icon, or from the Start
Menu.
18. Enter the following Connection Server: mypc.mercer.edu
19. Click the Connect button.
20. Enter the same user name and password used to log in to your Mercer computer and click the Login
button.
21. Select your desktop and click the Connect button. Your desktop will typically be named MY‐PC
