1.0 Corporate Philosophy:

Access Automation has over ten years experience in the security gate and barrier industry. We are

keen to maintain the excellent reputation the company holds for quality work and completion on

time in the commercial sector and develop our client base. We focus on cost effective long-term

solutions and installations with total after sales service and support. The core focus of our

commercial services is to consult, supply and install access security solutions for our clients. Not

only can we ensure total site security via automated access systems we can also ensure total data

security and tracking using the latest IT technology. As the security environment changes, Access

Automation is well placed to provide a centralized security solution for our commercial clients.

2.0 Access Automation Services:

Please find details below of all of the services Access Automation can offer. We not only pride ourselves

on the standard of workmanship on site but can offer a high standard of project planning, design and

implementation.

2.1 Site Assessment:

A site assessment allows our senior team of engineers to meet with you and discuss your

requirements before moving onto designing a system and providing a quotation. Our site

assessments are usually free unless it is a one off assessment of an existing installation. Please

contact our office to discuss your requirements and make an appointment with one of our senior

engineers. Site assessments can also involve our health and safety advisor for the consultation and

creation of method statements and risk assessments.

2.2 Project Management:

We can provide complete management for any installation we are involved in. Our team draws on

a specialised internal database providing up to the minute information on each of our current

installations. This database works alongside industry standard software to provide a complete and

flexible project management solution. Installation scheduling and planning are monitored daily to

enable weekly assessments of installations and their progress. We can also provide all project

installation details to our clients should they require it in hardcopy or data format. In some cases

where required we can provide up to the minute “real time” monitoring of our installation teams

progress.

2.3 Service Contracts:

The number of companies Access Automation provides service cover is growing month by month.

Our standard service contract provides:

• One yearly site visits to carry out preventative maintenance.

• A full service report will be sent to you detailing all findings and recommendations.

• Telephone and technical support over the 12 month period during standard working hours.

• 24/48 hour response time, for any breakdown.

• Database driven record of all calls logged against an installation covered by a service contract.

With larger installations and sites we can of course customize our standard terms to meet your

needs.

3.0 System Design:

Choosing the correct method of access control is the most critical aspect of any system design.

Listed below are the standard options. We always work with our clients to provide the most cost

effective solution but will not shy away from advising a higher specification option to achieve the

required needs.

3.1 Barriers:

We supply and install a number of barrier systems. Our preferred option is a stainless

steel barrier; this unit is a completely secure and high speed barrier with the facility to be

controlled by a variety of access control options. Barrier systems operate within 4

seconds and are typically used for sites that require entry and exit traffic management.

3.2 Sliding Gates:

Sliding gates can be installed to match existing security fencing and are particularly

suitable for sites providing access to a number of different vehicle types. They also

provide almost total security for any site with operating speeds around 12 seconds. As

with most automation options, sliding gates can be controlled by any number of access

control systems.

3.3 Swing Gates:

Automated swing gates are a viable alternative to sliding gates but do not provide any

speed advantage. Swing gates are usually installed as a matter of preference or because

an entry/exit location does not allow for any other option.

3.4 Rapid Access Gate:

The Access Automation Rapid Access Gate is a Swing Gate that can be opened and closed

within a short time frame minimizing the “open” time for any site. The gate has been

designed to allow specific access to sites for security purposes and can be linked to existing

security access control systems or we can quote to supply on specification.

The Rapid Access Gate has a guaranteed opening and closing time of 2 seconds and can

perform 500,000 cycles without the need for regular maintenance. The gate can be

manufactured within a six week period and a typical installation will take 5-8 days subject

to specification.

The standard design is a vertical bar infill however the frame can be modified to work

with any existing design or infill. The Rapid Access Gate is suitable for sites that require

high speed access and the highest security. The gate can be linked to a variety of access

control systems depending upon your needs.

The system is designed for use with the following types of organization:

• Car parks

• Banks and associated buildings

• Government buildings and associated areas.

• Police stations (Emergency services)

• Privately-owned buildings

• Airports and airport perimeters

• Docks and surrounding storage/ parking areas

• Borders

• Military installations

3.5 Rising Bollards/Kerbs:

We can supply and install static or automated rising bollards/rising kerbs. The designs

vary from “street furniture” style to more industrial and heavy duty units. Rising bollards

and kerbs can be used in conjunction with gates and a combination of access control

systems to enforce traffic management or restrict access.

3.6 Intercom Systems:

Intercom systems allow controlled access of visitors from a remote location. This usually

is the hallway or kitchen in domestic premises. An audio or video intercom fitted

provides communication between automation location and house/office. They can be

supplied as a stand alone system with supplied phones or monitors. These systems can

also be integrated with existing phone and television networks. We can install either

hardwired or a digital intercom depending upon your preference.

3.7 Turnstiles:

Turnstiles are an effective way if controlling pedestrian access to a site and can be fitted

internally or externally. Access Automation can supply and install a variety of models

from basic manual units to higher specification automated internal units. For a separate

4.0 Recent Installations:

4.1 National Air Traffic Control:

Working as a subcontractor in a large project, Access Automation supplied and installed a

complex vehicle control solution utilising our Rapid Access Gates and Road blockers (Below)

4.2 British Port Authority: Tilbury & Southampton Docks:

We have recently installed a series of sliding gates, barriers and turnstile at both of these high

profile British Port Authority sites. Our brief was to work with the existing access roadways and

upgrade or in some cases replace the exiting access security.

4.3 Police Tactical Response Headquarters, Coldharbour, Kent:

We have recently completed the installation of another set of our Rapid Access Gates at the above

site. The client had a specific requirement that any vehicle leaving the site at high speed should not

be required to slow or be hindered upon exit. Our solution provided the client with exactly what

was required.
