Why ACCAACCA (The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is the largest and fastest-growing global professional accountancy body with 325,000 students and 122,000 members in 180 countries.

The ACCA qualification is designed to provide the accounting knowledge, skills and professional values which will

deliver finance professionals who are capable of building successful careers across all sectors. There are two

examination sessions in June and December, and you can sit maximum 4 exams per session. The qualification is

usually completed within three years.

MINUMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

For registering to ACCA Professional Scheme you must hold an academic bachelor degree in any professional

field. You can also access ACCA via other routes:

Mature Student Entry Route (MSER)

MSER is addressed to students normally aged over 21 that have no academic qualifications or are in the process of

obtaining one. They must pass the equivalent of Papers F2, Management Accounting and F3, Financial Accounting

within two years before further progression to the ACCA exams is permitted.

Graduate-entry route

This route is designed for relevant degree holders from ACCA-accredited institutions who may be exempted from

all nine exams within the Fundamentals level and register directly at the Professional level. Degrees with some

relevance may also qualify for exemptions.

Access to ACCA via CAT qualification

For this registration route an academic qualification is not required. Student entering ACCA via this route should sit

the Certified Accounting Technician first and then transfer to the Skills module of the ACCA Qualification by

claiming exemption from the first three papers in the Knowledge module. 14 exams (nine of which are

eligible for exemption)

Fundamentals level

It is divided into two key sets of modules that you

must complete in order to pass the Fundamentals

level and move onto the Professional level:

Knowledge module - three papers that

introduce you into the core areas of finance and

management accounting and give you a platform

to develop your skills at the next level.

Skills module - six papers that test you on key

technical skills that you must master to become a

Qualified Accountant including Law, Performance

Management, Taxation, Financial Reporting,

Auditing and Financial Management.

Professional level

The Professional level is the final step towards the

ACCA qualification and is pitched at an intellectual

level equivalent to a Masters degree, consisting of:

Essentials modules – three papers that build

upon thetechnical skills you have acquired at the

Fundamentals level. They explore advanced

professional skills, techniques and values that you

will require to act as an expert accountant in an

advisory or consultancy role at a senior level.

Options modules – you must complete two of

these modules (out of a choice of four) which focus

on applying your knowledge and skills into two

specific areas of your choice.

ExemptionsThere are a range of exemptions available for

the Fundamentals level of the ACCA

qualification. Due to the diversity of these, we

and use their online exemption system to check

your individual circumstances.

BSc in Applied Accounting

It is possible, whilst studying for your ACCA

exams, to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree

in Applied Accounting awarded by Oxford

Brookes University. You are eligible to

undertake the Oxford Brookes BSc project after

completion of the fundamentals level.

To obtain your BSc you need to:

complete a Research and Analysis project

based on a 6,500 word report on a topic

suggested by Oxford Brookes University.

produce a Skills and Learning Statement of

2,500 words

Present your findings.

BPP ACCA Training ProgrammeBPP ACCA ADMIN SERVICE

As an ACCA student you will have to fulfil several tasks as registering to exams and paying your student fees, within

the deadlines. BPP is granting you further support backed by our extended experience by managing your ACCA

student account, through the BPP ACCA Admin Scheme.

This means that BPP will:

monitor and process your ACCA correspondence

offer support and advice in choosing your exam options

register you for exams

pay all your relevant fees to ACCA and invoice them to you at a later stage

assist you in any ACCA administrative matter.

COMPUTER BASED EXAMSOur BPP Centre in Romania is licensed by

the ACCA to organise and administer CBEs.

When attempting CBEs, you are not

restricted to the paper-based June or

December exam sittings but can take exams

at any time of the year by arrangement with

ACCA Day Course Schedule

An ACCA day course starts at 9 a.m. and finishes at 4:30 p.m. Every day the ACCA students must do the attendance at the

reception desk, starting with 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. There will be two coffee breaks each of 15 minutes, one at 10:45 a.m. and the

other at 2:45 p.m. The lunch break will be between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.

High Caliber TutorsStuart Whent qualified as a Chartered Accountant with RSMi Robson Rhodes and Spain Brothers

in UK. Stuart specializes in Financial Reporting and Audit. Stuart has been with BPP for 6 years and

starting with March 2009 he is the Managing Director of BPP Romania

Dorina Badea is an ACCA qualified and is specialised in elaborating strategies and monitoring

performance during her more than 12 years of professional finance experience.

Otilia Mantelers is ACCA qualified teaching a broad variety of ACCA subjects, also being

specialized in financial accounting topics.

Ben Wheaton is a Chartered Accountant teaching various accounting and auditing papers for BPP,

and he is also responsible for updating the group IFRS materials.

Juan Gamecho began his career in investment banking in the City of London, working initially in

structured finance and subsequently in corporate finance Juan specialises in management strategy.

Jonathan Snary is qualified as a Chartered accountant and worked in the corporate finance

department of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Jonathan has many years of teaching experience in the business,

IT and management faculties.

Simon Emery joined BPP in 1989 specialising in Financial Reporting and Auditing subjects teaching

across all major worldwide accountancy qualifications including ACCA. Simon was Head of UK Regional

offices between 2002-2009.

Ivona Toma successfully graduated ACCA few years ago. She worked both as an Audit and Tax

Manager. Her experience and background on the tax area recommend her as the perfect presenter for the

Romanian Tax courses as well as for Audit areas.

Waldemar Majek specializes in financial and internal audits and in internal control. Since 2004,

Waldemar has been an ACCA member and starting with 2009 he is a member of the ACCA Auditing

Committee.

Richard Gibbon is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW)

having qualified with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Manchester, UK. As a tutor, Richard specialises in

financial management, management accounting and international financial reporting.
