Workshop Goals Meet some fellow students Learn about academics at Evergreen Intro to planning tools and resources Get ready to register for fall!
Before you leave today …You’ll have: A list of three possible programs for fall, With CRN numbers, and, Knowledge of how to go on-line and register.
Get acquaintedShare some info about yourself: Name, home town and state One talent or skill you have Why you chose to come to Evergreen
College is different from high school Only 15-20 hours/week in class; up to 30+
hours/week of studying outside of class Few or no reminders about deadlines, tests,
assignments; you must check syllabus More and harder reading/writing Just reading is not enough—you must also
analyze, critique, question the texts “Teaching” ≠ “Telling you the material”
Evergreen is different from other colleges No majors (but you can create area of emphasis) No required courses One program, rather than several classes No grades—instead you get narrative
evaluations
Catalog Make sure you’re looking at 2011-12! Contents will change throughout summer: check
the “Recently Updated” link Filter/sort: by level (Freshman), by credits, by
field of study, by quarter Search by keyword
To register . . . Choose and prioritize at least three options Note down CRN numbers:

As soon as your time comes up, go to my.evergreen.edu
Waitlists Be sure to choose “Waitlist” from dropdown and
click “Submit.” Multiple waitlists? Use “Waitlist Preference Form” Check where you are on waitlist by going to
“Student Registration Details” There is usually lots of waitlist movement over
the summer!
