KALOJI JAYANTHI CELEBRATIONS 2014-15

Kaloji Jayanthi Celebrations 2014-15 were celebrated in the College on 09.09.2014. Kaloji

Narayana Rao an eminent Poet in Telugu Literature has significant contribution to the Telugu

literature who has created a prominent impact and awareness in the rural masses of Telangana.

The Programme was headed by Prof.S.Limba Goud, Principal, Dr.K.Lavanya, Asst.Prof. of

Telugu Dept., of Telangana University, Dichpally Dist.Nizamabad was invited for an invited

talk. The other persons who chaired the dias were Dr.Aslam Farroq, HOD Dept.of Urdu.

Dr.Rajendra Prasad, Lect.in Economics of the College also created awareness among the

Students on the Literature of Kaloji.

Dr.K.Ravi Shankar Sharma, Lect.in Telugu administered the entire programme.

Different competitions were conducted to the students and prizes were distributed.

BATHUKAMMA FESTIVAL CELEBRATIONS – 2014-15

Telangana Govt. has declared Bathukamma State Festival celebrations

On the occasion of Bathukamma festival ( State of Telangana ) was celebrated by the

Women Empowerment cell on 25th of Sep’2014 under the Chairman Ship of the Principal,

Prof.S.Limba Goud. Both Teaching and Non Teaching Women Staff have involved in the

program and enjoyed a lot by singing Bathukamma songs and Playing Kolatam ( Dandiya)

around the decorated Bathukamma. Many girl students participated in the Programme.

National Education Day on 11th November’2014

The National Education Day was celebrated on 11.11.2014 on the eve of Birth day

Celebrations of the first Education Minister “Maulana Abul Kalam Ajaad”. The students, Staff

members and the Principal spoke on the occasion on importance of Education. Prizes were

distributed to the Students who participated in the programme.

REPORT ON AIDS DAY -2014

It is to submit that the Aids Day- 2014 was conducted in the College in the following

manner.

1. A Rally with the students and the staff by giving certain slogans was taken from the

college through the streets of Gurbabadi and Dubba and again came back to College.

2. A Meeting was also conducted in the College premises in which the Principal NSS

Programme Officers have given some awareness about AIDS and HIV. And also spoke

about preventive steps to be taken to avoid AIDS. The Principal has highlighted the

point that there is no medicine for AIDS “ Prevention” is the only way of avoiding it.

The Students have also expressed their views and cleared their doubts about AIDS and

HIV Virus.

On 4th December 2014 under the banner of “Commerce Students Forum” Various

programs conducted like Quiz, Debate and essay writing Competition. In Quiz “TATA Group”

team Won and in Debate competition “UPSC Group” Won. In essay writing competition three

students got the prize.

honor. Mohd Abid Ali, Dr. Mohd Aslam Faroqui, Syed Haseeb Ur Rahman, Mrs. Nazima

CAREER GUIDANCE CELL 09th January 2015

A awareness programme on Career Opportunities in Indian Air Force and Defences

services was held on 09th january 2015, under the chairmanship of principal Dr. Rajendra

Prasad. The chief guest was district joint Collector Shri Sheshadri sagar accompanied by

Deputy tehsildar Smt. Krishna Kumar, department of youth welfare.Sgt. Rupesh Kumar gave

the detailed information on notification, recuitment criteria,selection procedure, pattern of

written examination. Lt. Col Vinay Kumar Alok encouraged the students to Indian air force and

feel the pride of being an indian and serving the country. The programme was successfully

conducted with the co-operation of District Youth welfare department.

An extension Lecture was conducted on soft skills for career development for all the students.

T. Rajendra Kumar Regional Manager UAE exchange, enlightened on the importance of soft

skills in career development. He also discussed about interpersonal relationship, effective

communication, and presentation skills. He has encouraged students to participate in Seminars,

conferences, group discussion to develop their own skills. Finally he concluded saying “To be

Successful in Career and Life, soft skills are very much essential”.

Brief Report on Consumers Day Celebrations

In connection with celebration of National Consumers Week from 18-12-2014 to 24-12-

2014, a Consumer awareness program is being organized by the consumer club of Girraj

Government College, Nizamabad on 19-12-2014, Dist. Consumer President Smt.G.Rajeshwari

Garu and Smt.Bhavani, ASO were attended the Program, Smt. G.Rajeshwari Garu enlighted the

students about the consumer rights, Smt. Bhavani explains briefly about consumer awareness

on E-Commerce. The College Vice Principal Sri. P.Ram Mohan Reddy, Consumer Club

Coordinator Sri. K.Bharath Raj, Consumer Club Member Sri. D.Narayana Rao and Dr.K.Ravi

Shanker, other Staff Members and students were attended this Program. In this connection

Essay Writing and Elocution competitions were conducted.

One Day workshop on Jute Bag making is organized by Women Empowerment Cell and

NSS girls Unit on 23rd January’2015 in Girraj Govt.College, Nizamabad. 36 Girl students have

participated in the workshop.

The programme was organized to develop the skills of the students and empower then

financially.

The Principal Dr.V.Rajendra Prasad garu and Vice Principal, P.Ram Mohan Reddy garu

have addressed the students to participate in such workshop and to improve their innate skills.

Resource person Smt.Srilatha garu trained them in cutting and making of Jute bags.

Lecturers A.Rani, Lect.in Chemistry & Smt. B.Sumalatha, Lect.in Commerce participated

in the programme.

Women Empowerment Cell under the chairmanship of the college Principal

Dr. V. Rajendra Prasad garu celebrated international women's day on 9- 3- 2015. Principal, vice

principal and senior faculty of the college conveyed their greetings to all the working women in

the college. later an extension lecture on the role of women in the contemporary world was

delivered by Smt. Latha garu ,lecturer from Government Degree College, Armoor.

JKC REPORT FOR THE ACCADEMIC YEAR 2014-15

Jawahar Knowledge Centre (JKC) was started in Girraj Govt.College in the year 2007. The centre has been

imparting training in communication skills, technical skills, analytical skills, aptitude and reasoning since then.

In the year 2009 the summer batch was started in the month of April and the total No. of students joined

were 131.

This summer batch was inaugurated by our Principal Madam Smt.Moriah Eunice. On this occasion principal

madam stressed the importance of JKC training especially to get placements in MNCs. Many students joined this

summer batch from different local colleges and other places in the district.

This time we are planned to impart all skills rigorously and concentrating more on communication skills in

English.

We hope that a few students will definitely get placements orders in MNCs.

Under our JKC we have JKC extension centers in our district i.e. GDC, Kamareddy, GDC Bodhan,

GDC Armoor, GDC Bichkunda, GDC Banswada, and GDC Morthad.
