Manon Lewis

Manon initially studied Zoology at the University of Wales College, Cardiffwhere she attained a Bsc(Hons) degree before turning her attentions tostudyingmusicfulltime.ShethenattendedtheRoyalWelshCollegeofMusicand Drama, where she studied with David Cowley and Celia Craig andattainedaPost-graduatediplomawithdistinction,beforegoingontostudyat theRoyalNorthernCollegeofMusic inManchester.Whilstat theRNCM,she studiedwithHughMcKenna,Douglas Boyd and ThomasDavey.Duringthistime,sheattainedaPostgraduatediplomawithdistinction,aaMastersdegree, as well as being generously awarded several performancescholarships.

Manonmoved fromManchester toMacau in 2003 to take her position asPrincipalOboewiththeMacauOrchestra,apostsheremainedinfor6years.DuringhertimeinMacau,shehadtheopportunitytoplayseveralconcertoswith the Macau Orchestra and the Hong Kong Sinfonietta. She was oftenaskedtobeaguestmusicianwiththeneighbouringHongKongPhilharmonicOrchestra.

Manon is currently based in Manchester where she has a busy freelancecareer as an oboist, playing with many of the leading British orchestraincluding the BBC Philharmonic, BBC National Orchestra ofWales, and theRoyalLiverpoolPhilharmonicOrchestratonamebutafew.

ManonisakeentravellerandhasbeenluckytohavetheopportunitytovisitmanycountriesincludingAustralia,NewZealand,India,CambodiaandseveralEastAfricannations.
