ABOUT THE NCHCThe National Collegiate Hockey Conference was formed by like-minded institutions under the principles of an overall institutional commitment to Division I hockey, a high level of competitiveness, national exposure, and a strong history and tradition within the hockey program.
The NCHC was officially founded on July 13, 2011 at the historic Penrose House in Colorado Springs, CO. The six founding members are Colorado College, University of Denver, Miami University, University of Minnesota Duluth, University of Nebraska Omaha and University of North Dakota. On Sept. 22, 2011, St. Cloud State University and Western Michigan University joined the NCHC to complete the eight-team conference. The NCHC completed its inaugural season in 2013-14.
