Grown & Brewed Montana’s history is coupled with a strong agricultural tradition of growing some of the finest grains in the nation. We live in the midst of the Golden Triangle, an area just off the Rocky Mountains that produces barley that is used throughout the country to produce fine beers, domestic and craft. Montana Brewers pride themselves in using Montana grown grain to make their beer, and to partner with Montana farmers and producers. Our “Grown and Brewed” Seal depicts this pride, so look for it around the state to identify beer made in Montana from grain grown right here. Montana-made beer is truly Brewed from the Ground Up! About U.S. Craft Brewing: • Utilize over 1000 retailers, and sell their products in 22 states. • Produce over 200 brands of beer that are sold throughout the state. • Manufacture and package over 75,000 barrels (2,325,000 gallons) of fine handcrafted beer in pints, bottles, cans, and kegs each year. • Use over 5 million pounds of malted grain, approximately half of which is grown in Montana. • Distribute products through Montana’s beer and wine wholesale distributors. • Experienced an 8% growth in barrels of beer produced in 2009. • Employ more than 200 Montanans. • Employ the staff of dozens of trade companies statewide such as plumbers, electricians, refrigeration, and general contractors.
