About the Institute
Sanjay Ghodawat Group of Institutions was established in 2009
with an objective to become a world class institution where
teaching-learning processes get a far deeper meaning. The
Institute is situated near Atigre village on state Highway No.3
(Kolhapur-Sangli) at distance of 18 km from Kolhapur. Campus
is spread across 17 hectares in serene atmosphere amidst
idyllic hills and lush green meadows.
The growth of institute is spectacular in the short span of only
seven years, the institute is ISO 9001-2008 certified, Accredited
‘A’ Grade by NAAC & NBA Accredited. SGI continuously looks
at the future while striving to make significant contribution
towards professional education. Keeping abreast with the

Introduction and Objectives
Reinforced Concrete is a combination of steel reinforcement and concrete has applications in various types of construction works right from residential, commercial to under water constructions like bridges, aqueducts etc. Reinforced Concrete (RC) occupies a leading position in present Civil Engineering construction works.Present STTP is basically aimed for fresh graduates of Civil Engineering inspiring for Structural Consultants, faculty of Civil Engineering to teach the subject, Design of RC Structures more confidently and to enhance industry academia interaction with practicing conlultants.
Outcomes: After completion of this STTP, participants will be able to do:
1) Load Calculations as per IS codes.
2) Design of RC elements such as slab, beams, columns,
footings, staircase etc.
3) Design of columns subjected to moments.
4) Understand procedure for the analysis and design of
RC buildings using commercial software.
5) Draw RC detailing of various parts of the structure as
per the provisions of various IS codes.
