In 2009 PepsiCo and the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) partnered to create the Eco-Challenge, a category of awards within the regional Talent and Innovation Competition of the Americas – TICAmericas. The Eco-Challenge is directed to helping young people, from Latin America and the Caribbean, to develop innovative business ideas to address environmental challenges. The Eco-Challenge objetive is to identify ideas / social projects or business development, offering viable solutions to the follow Eco- Challenge Categories: 1. There are no environmental education materials for LAC students. 2. Approximately 15% of the population in LAC does not have access to clean drinking water. 3. A large number of rivers and clean water sources are contaminated. 4. Approximately 15% of the population in LAC does not have access to water treatment. 5. Your Eco-Challenge… (Participants are asked to identify and propose a solution to an environmental problem affecting their community).
