Each year, AMUNC comes alive with the spirit of the UN, peaceful internaonal dialogue and youth empower- ment. AMUNC 2011 aims to celebrate academic excellence, diplomac progress and diversity, through insighul commiee sessions and excing social events. AMUNC 2011 brings Model UN as a solid plaorm to the Australian Naonal University and Canberra for the first me. Many of the socials will take place in naonal instuons, showcasing Australia’s history and naonal treasures. A number of innovave changes will be seen at AMUNC 2011. The introducon of the ILC acknowledges the importance of emerging legal principles, whilst the use of the High Court of Australia offers a unique experience to the delegates of the Legal Commiees. For the first me the Security Council and Crisis Council are accountable to each other. The interacvity between the two commiees gives greater depth to the topics at hand. In addion the Commiees porolio has expanded to include AMUNC’s first intelligence agency. The dynamism of commiee debate during the week culminates into the General Plenary Session, which will present delegates with a surprising twist. The Outreach porolio has been enlarged; now encompassing succession planning in order to strengthen the future of AMUNC. The porolio aims to consolidate the framework of instuonal memory developed by the Host Teams of 2009 and 2010, combining the experience of strong delegaons with the burgeoning number of new delegaons joining AMUNC for the first me in 2011.
