Keep Conyers Rockdale Beautiful Hosts Rivers Alive Clean up Event

Keep Conyers Rockdale Beautiful (KCRB) will host its annual Rivers Alive event on Saturday, October 17. Cleanups will be throughout the community, with the kick-off and an appreciation luncheon for all volunteers at the Wheeler Park pavil-ion, located at 1350 Parker Road. The event kicks off at 7:30 a.m.

Conyers/Rockdale County area residents will wade into local rivers, creeks and lakes as part of the continuing statewide campaign to clean and preserve over 70,000 miles of Georgia’s rivers and streams. The effort will be part of Rivers Alive, a joint program of the Department of Natural Resource’s Environmental Protection Division and Keep Georgia Beautiful.

Civic groups, subdivisions and communities, Boy and Girl Scout Troops, churches and individuals may register by calling 770-278-7052 or email [email protected]. Registration forms may be picked up at the County’s Administrative and Services Building, 958 Milstead Avenue, or be emailed by request.

All volunteers will be provided latex gloves, safety vests and trash bags, and will received free lunch and a free T-shirt. Groups must register by October 1 to secure lunch and a T-shirt, but volunteers are welcome to show up the day of the event.
