About APPI

Planning is a key agent in shaping our communities and leading how we adapt to and manage the physical, economic, and social forces that affect our communities. The Alberta Professional Aplanners Institute (APPI) is a professional, regulated organization of private and public sector planners practicing in Alberta, the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. APPI is governed as a public, accountable organization with an obligation to serve the public’s interest under the Professional and Occupation Associations Registration Act.

We’re making something. We’re building great cities and great regions, and the world is starting to take notice. There’s something special about our planning practice and community-building efforts here in Alberta, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories. Our towns, regions and cities are growing at a tremendous rate, and we know that despite geographical differences from north to south, change is constant. Ongoing change is shaping how we plan for, and live in, our communities in new ways. By exploring connections and contrasts, we can illuminate the fundamental similarities that propel our visions for the great places we’re planning forward. Our work is fueled by a sense that we can achieve great things if we work together. It’s fueled by an understanding that attention to the small temporary things, as well as the big permanent things, defines who we are and how we live. In our great cities and great regions we collectively possess a unique combination of do-it-yourself grit and do-it-together stewardship that has resulted in a culture and landscape of transformation-in-action. To celebrate shared learnings and harness the collective energy of our diverse professional planners, we’re shaking things up. From a mystery dinner, to an evening of Pecha Kucha in public space, the conference promises to engage, excite and stir the transformational ideas that are helping to make our cities and regions great. Sponsorship Opportunities

This year’s conference provides many opportunities to profile your company and tie your organization’s branding with various conference events and sessions. For a conference with over 200 registrants, corporate promotion opportunities are available for up to $10,000 depending on your marketing objectives. Long time favoured hosting options such as meals, refreshment breaks, keynote speakers, concurrent sessions, luncheon, receptions, and awards are available. At this year’s conference we are now offering a Diamond Sponsorship opportunity with even more benefits. Consideration will be given for those who wish to sponsor a lower level opportunity (example: food truck lunch) and donate a higher level amount (example: Platinum amount) and receive the higher level sponsorship benefits.
