About a BuoyOn a typical yacht charter you will come across many buoys out
on the water, but did you know quite how many many uses there are for buoys in the marine world?! Well read more to see quite
how many uses the humble buoy is employed for!
Navigational Aids• Buoys that we see out on a
yacht charter marking out the channels, the hazards and points and generally aiding pilotage. You will also likely hear some buoys if they have a bell attached that sounds with the movement of the water! Fairway Buoys are another navigational aid, marking out a safe passage.

Recreational Buoys
• There are many recreational uses for buoys, from marking out dive sites with shot buoys, to using diving buoys to mark the position of divers. Mooring buoys of course allow us to anchor safely at sea, whilst we stop to explore a local harbour. Yacht racing also relies on buoys to mark the points of the race.
