WHO WE ARE The Association of Business Mentors (ABM) is the independent, not-for-profit professional body for Business Mentors. Our purpose is to inspire and champion excellence in Business Mentoring, to advance awareness and standards in the business mentoring profession, and to make a sustainable difference to mentors, the organisations and people that they help. THE VISION and PASSION ABM To position ABM members at the leading edge of mentoring whilst providing those seeking mentoring with the security of knowing they are dealing with a truly professional business mentor who shares the ethos of best practice and drawing on first hand experience. OUR MISSION • Unite the mentoring industry by promoting collaboration and build a network of strategic alliances and relationships to maximise the members’ and the professions’ potential to form a supportive professional community • To actively advance education and best practice in business mentoring and raising the bar • To develop and implement targeted marketing initiatives to encourage growth to the profession and bridge the mentoring gap. HOW WE ARE DOING IT Membership Full – Achieve the credibility stamp. A minimum of two years mentoring, ten references, one day of recognised training, two nominations £150 p/a or Quarterly £45 Affiliate – Supported through the journey to fulfill full membership requirements with an allocated mentor £50 Organisation Structure – Twelve Regional Heads and four expert officers work with the board to spread the word and support members locally. Regular Events Quarterly professional Information Mornings – Guest speakers on hot topics and key skills to enhance our mentoring capabilities and knowledge of the wider market place Conferences: London Manchester and Dublin – Packed with guest speakers from the mentoring and wider business world. Show cases of success stories, breakout sessions on four specific skills, speed mentoring. Approximately five million businesses are registered in the UK and a mere 15% have or has had a mentor.
