It gives me great pleasure to welcome all of you to this edition of our NEXUS Corporate newsletter. You know, life is full of surprises. And I never thought I would be sitting here 7 years after starting NEXUS and sharing with you great news about our growth and innovation. I like to think that what sets us apart is our company core values of Integrity, Passion, Commitment to Quality, Innovation, Creativity and Uniqueness. But it is not; it is the fact that over these 7 years, NEXUS has become a great place, for great people to do great work. Our commitment to growth, innovation, safety & quality has become the cornerstone of our company. And this issue focuses on these topics.

First, we were just awarded the most prestigious International Standard-Business Aircraft Operations Stage 3 certification. What does this mean? It means that our commitment to safety & quality was recognized by an independent auditor and certified that we are in line with industry best-practices. Specifically, IS-BAO Stage 3 is the final and the highest level in a five-year performance-based assessment, specifically recognizing compliance with the highest IS-BAO standards and practices following an in-depth audit and rating of our Safety Management System (SMS).

Second, we were also awarded the first ever Aviation Academy Certificate by the General Authority for Civil Aviation, a first of its kind in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In fact, our company’s certificate is “Number GACA 0001” reflecting the magnitude of this milestone for the Kingdom and for NEXUS.

Finally, we were honored to be host sponsors to the February 2017 Aviation Africa Sumit in Kigali, Rwanda, a showcase of growth and innovation in the African Aviation Market. I was very happy and proud to be part of a distinguished panel including Rwanda President, His Excellency Paul Kagame, in the opening ceremonies where I welcomed all the guests, attendees and exhibitors. I am also proud the advisor to President Kagame Tweeted my speech to over 1.5 millions of his followers. It shows his commitment in growing the aviation sector in Africa and choosing NEXUS as the right partner to help with this growth.

The exhibition was successful as we forged new partnerships and relationships supporting our 2017 growth strategies. This issue of our newsletter is packed with all this news along with some great photos that capture the spirit of growth and our commitment to you. I look forward to growing stronger in our partnership and commitment with each of you.

Sincerely Yours,

Abdulla Al Sayed

NEXUS PEOPLE

NEXUS India presents female staff with motivational book.

International Women’s day is a day when we recognize the contribution of women in our society, work environment and celebrate gender parity. This day is also about unity, celebration, reflection and action. While a lot of companies today are struggling with hiring and empowering more and more women, NEXUS India has already achieved this milestone. At NEXUS India, 41% of the team consists of women and what is even more impressive is, all the four functions are led by female leaders! This has been possible as they look beyond gender and bestow equal responsibility based on competence.

In addition, NEXUS India’s employee friendly policies, great working environment and the organization’s supportive culture has helped these women achieve a happy work-life balance, while still achieving their professional goals. As a token of appreciation for their commitment, hard work and dedication towards the organization, NEXUS India presented these team members with a motivational book, shared inspirational videos and treated them to an in-house safety workshop by NEXUS India CEO, Mandeep Sandhu, which highlighted safety both at work, and beyond. “I am so proud of the NEXUS team for this achievement,” said Abdullah Al-Sayed, Founder & Chairman of NEXUS, “whenever you earn a Certificate from the General Authority of Civil Aviation, it means that a cross-functional team of individuals in the organization has worked extremely hard to meet all of the stringent requirements of the certificating process. It also enhances our credibility as we continue to grow our aviation training business under the NEXUS Aviation Academy banner. We are also grateful to the professionals at GACA who worked with us and supported us through this process.”

The Air Agency Certificate empowers NEXUS to operate an approved Training Center under CAGAR Part 143. To achieve the Certificate, NEXUS also had to prepare a training and procedures manual, demonstrate the presence of an active quality assurance system and have its instructors, courses, curricula and facilities approved by GACA.

“This is another important step in the growth of the NEXUS Aviation Academy and our global training business,” said Steve Saxton, VP Global Business Development at NEXUS, “the Part 143 Certificate makes our training offerings more attractive to students, as they are assured that they are receiving GACA-approved instruction that will increase their chances of securing long-term employment with the best aviation organizations in the region.”

NEXUS kicked off 2017 by announcing that it has been awarded a Part 143 Air Agency Certificate for its NEXUS Aviation Academy, a first of its kind in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
