“It doesn’t get much more international than Vancouver, and that is why I decided to study at SFU, one of the top 10 business schools in Canada.” WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO PURSUE AN MBA AT SFU’S BEEDIE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS? I decided to pursue an MBA so that I can gain more insight on all aspects of the business industry on an international level. It doesn’t get much more international than Vancouver, and that is why I decided to study at SFU, one of the top 10 business schools in Canada. I just wasn’t satisfied with where I was in my previous job. I wanted to learn and grow both professionally and personally. WHAT IS IT LIKE TO STUDY AND LIVE IN VANCOUVER, CANADA? It wasn’t difficult to adjust to living in Vancouver compared to other countries I’ve lived in. The ci is so multicultural, that the culture shock was kept to a minimum when I first arrived here. People are friendly and polite, as well as the fact that are many sights to see, coffee shops and restaurants to visit, and events to attend. Furthermore, studying with such a diverse group of individuals who come from different cultures and have different backgrounds, has been such a pleasant experience thus far. WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVOURITE MOMENT OR EXPERIENCE AT BEEDIE SO FAR? WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO? My favorite experience is the fact there are only around 45 students in the program, which I view as quite beneficial, as it creates a close, family-like feeling. You get the chance to work with all these wonderful people frequently and get to know so much about them in such a short span of time. I would say I’m most looking forward to the MBA games since it would be a fantastic opportuni to compete against and meet fellow graduate business students from all across Canada. Additionally, I’m quite excited about the cross-cultural trip to Singapore in April, which I’m sure will be an enlightening and enjoyable experience.
