Step 1:

Before entering inside the BTS room, inform the NMC about entrance and write down the names of all the team members with designations, ID, Mobile numbers, In time, signatures etc in the site register.

Step 2:

As this will be a Cold swap, first of all unpack & put the new NSN flexi BTS on the floor near the proposed place and install DDF to the proposed locations. Here are two existing Ericsson BTS cabinets (900 & 1800) and the new NSN Flexi BTS will be replaced with Ericsson 1800 cabinet. So, disconnect the jumpers from 1800 cabinet and take the values of VSWR and DTF. Then we Connect jumper cable With new flexi BTS. After Install the BTS we should install new rectifier in the proposed place, then battery connection will be made using the existing Battery. Every battery bank will contain 4 batteries in series to make a 48 volt batteries bank. Then we install the DCDB in the proposed place & connect the power cable from Rectifier to DCDB. After install the DCDB & Rectifier, we remove MW power from the Existing rectifier and this connection will be install in DCDB.

Step 3:

Connect all the PCM and alarm cables (new BTS – new DDF and existing TX Rack - new DDF). Switch on the new BTS and configure the new Flexi BTS will go to operational mode.

Step 4:

Now disconnect the jumpers cables from Ericsson 900 cabinet and take the values of VSWR and DTF. Do the necessary configurations of NSN Flexi BTS for 900 part. Now the both parts of 900 & 1800 of new BTS are in operational mode.

Step 5:

Remove the existing Ericsson BTS 900 & 1800 carefully and place the new NSN Flexi BTS there. After completing the installation work, pack the dismantled equipments and clean the BTS room properly.

Step 6:

Turn off the lights, turn on the AC if it was turned off during work, write down Out-time in the site register book, lock the BTS room, inform the NMC and then leave the site.

9. Observation & Recommendation
