The city was discovered beneath an old portion of Nevsihir where the state housing developmentagency was hoping to build a new housing project.

"We stopped the construction we were planning to do on these areas when an underground citywas discovered," Mehmet Ergün Turan, the head of the state housing development agency toldTurkish newspaper Hurriyet Daily News, which reported that the new discovery is the largest thatthey have found in the region to date.

The city is believed to date back 5,000 years, though little else is known as researchers are likelygoing to launch into their analysis in the coming months.

Trash is humanity's harbinger. I'm surprised Curiosity hasn't discovered any trash on Mars. 37△ ▽

• Reply •

HMCH222 • 11 hours ago> Fragarach

In some ways its trash. Think about it.. 16△ ▽

• Reply •

Daniel Duncan • 10 hours ago> Fragarach

You do not have to discover trash on Mars, we have several satellites and a couple of derelictobservation vehicles of varying sizes and shapes there already, the people who sent them there knowexactly where they are, so discovering them would be as simple as a few people "Where did yourrover run out of power at?" Or "Where did your satellite crash?" To date, we have failed in moreattempts to survey Mars than we have succeeded, obviously, our failures are littering that planetalready.

Also, like HMCM222 was kind enough to point out, Curiosity itself will eventually be trash on thesurface of Mars, its power supply will eventually run out and it will become a hunk of garbage like therest of them.

Instead of a beer can or a scrap of paper at a time the us government trashes it a billiondollars at a time. Just think of all the kids that could have been fed or educated or the amounttaxes could have been reduced to help all of us live better.

Our kids are offered an education. Throwing more money hasn't helped yet. It has to bemore to it than money. If your home is not conducive to learning, you have a bigdisadvantage; if you allow disruptive students to hinder the learning of other studentsyou are at a disadvantage. Schools should teach you the fundamentals. A student cannot learn when the bully is allowed to disruptive the class. As to home life, one can notchange one's parents. If the parents are strung out on drugs or don't have aneducation, U can expect the child to learn from them. We are all conditioned. While inschool, every student, regardless of income, should get a free meal. You can not learnwhen you are hungry.

Housing and Urban Development is spending over $42 Billion this year and has spentover $10 Billion/Yr since 1970 and look what we have to show for it. education. Billions spent and wasted due to the breakdown in the home and societywith little to show for it. There are some success stories but not many compared to thefailures. The monies spent for space exporation has brought our country more good than whathas been spent on the habitually unemployed all across our nation.

You need to re-read Alvin Lee's lyrics. He's talking about over taxing the rich until weare all poor. The Chorus: I'd love to change the world but I don't know what to do, so I leave it up toyou. Oh Yeah! Then a great guitar solo.

I don't understand the idea that MONEY is thrown away in the space program. money is spent buying materials that are made by scientists, craftsmen and all theirsupporting staff, including janitors and toilet paper makers. And every person paid andevery item bought supports the people who grow food, make cars, TV sets, and so on.It's called the ECONOMY. Money hoarded by people who have so much of it andgreedily suck up as much more as they can are what is killing this country.

When there is exactly $1.38 available to the 99% of the country that isn't rich, thealmighty dollar will be dead and worthless. The economy works by spending money. That is the investment the people must make. Not by giving it away or by hording it likeit was the elixir of life.
