IntroductionThis was an assignment for a technical writing class at the University of Texas at San Antonio during the spring 2014 term. It is an example of a abbreviated business plan that contains a vision, mission, and values statement, a funding, setup, and marketing plan, a Gantt chart, expense budget, and cash position.

Hamilton’s Apparel has a vision to bring high quality fashion and accessories, with trends towards music and art, to our customers through our online store and physical locations. We were established to provide world-class customer service, while providing a diverse shopping environment. Our values serve as a guide for our actions and describe how our business behaves in the world. We strive to be a great place to work where our employees are inspired to be the very best they can be. We show the importance of our customers by taking the time to focus on their needs and providing exceptional customer service.

Funding PlanThe following section includes a plan describing the actions necessary to obtain and control the company funds.

1. We will look for a consultant to oversee financial reports. The Chief Financial Officer, Billy Madison, will lead this task. This should take approximately two weeks.

2. We will construct a rough draft of our business plan. The Chief Financial Officer, Billy Madison, will lead this task. This should take approximately two weeks.

4. We will take time to locate investing firms with a specialty in apparel. This task will be led by the Chief Executive Officer, Andre’ Hamilton. This should take approximately three weeks.

Marketing PlanThis section is our step-by-step guide to publicizing Hamilton’s Apparel.

High quality fashion and accessories at an affordable price, the ability to shop from home, and great customer service are the main examples the market wants.

Our target locations are typically large urban-like areas with high population count and spending power. We market towards the well-educated 18-30 year old range, both male and female, with interests in art and music.

They can shop from our website and catalogs. We only use the best materials for our products. We provide a relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff to make for a more comfortable shopping experience.

We would like our customers to see that Hamilton’s recognizes their importance and make it our mission to provide world-class customer service. As a company we believe that we have a certain responsibility to remain environmentally and socially responsible for our product from beginning to end. We hope that our competitors follow us, and do the same.
