During the event, many residents were pres- ent. Mayur Kalate said, “Tree conservation for green Wakad is very important. Tree plantation during the rainy reason is very important. If today we conserve the trees, then it will help us in the future. I request all the society residents to plant more trees.” On the same day, an annual meeting was held with Senior Citizen group at Hotel Club 29 senior. Senior Citizen Group members felicitated Local Corporator Swati Kalate and Nationalist Congress Party Leader Mayur Kalate. Gurudev Seva Mandal mesmerized all residents through their beau- tiful Bhajans. All people were glued to their seats throughout the program as bhajan Mandal sung some beautiful Vitthal Bhajans along with national pride bhajans by Tukdoji Ma- haraj. Many residents personal- ly appreciated the performance by this group. This year Ekadashi was also celebrated in a unique way where Mandir Committee collected bicycles, footwears, toys etc, and handed over to Vikas Anathashram in Bhosari. Residents committed to come together over and again for such a noble cause in future. Celebration ended with the traditional prasad of khichadi. Rose Icon senior residents participated and enjoyed this well organized event. O n the occasion of Guru Purnima, various programs were organized at the Dattaraj Temple, Kunal Icon Road, Pimple Saudagar. The celebration of the Guru Purnima began in the morning by Rudrabhishek, Gurudattatray Abhishek and Palakhi pujan bhajans. After the abhishek, Gurucharitra Granth’s 14th lesson group reading was organized. Then, palakhi pradakshina and Maha aarti of Loard Dattatray programs were held. After all the morning events, Mahaprasad was distributed to all the devotees. In the evening, a Geeta Pathan program was organized. B M Bhave, a volunteer said, “Large numbers of devotees were present for the celebration. In the contemporary scenario, this festival is celebrated or observed in various ways in schools, institutes of higher learning and creative arts organisations. All devotees follow this tradition of Guru- Shishya Parampara very dearly. Guru Purnima celebra- tion at Dattaraj temple Women empowerment programme held A women empowerment programme was organized by the Nationalist Congress Par- ty Pimpri Chinchwad City and Nana Kate Social Foundation. The women empower- ment program was organized between July 18 and July 22. The program was inaugurated by local Corporator Sheetal Kate at the Mahadev Temple, Pimple Saudagar. Renuka Kate, Jayshree Kate, Sunita Kate, Na- tionalist Unorganized Workers Organization President Meena Mohite, Manisha Machale, Vaishali Arankalle, Valekar and members of Women Self-help group were present. Under this program, free training for business from home will be given. The train- ing program includes catering, cooking, fruit processing, various dishes cooking and food making. The information of government, information of bank loans, self-help group business building should be provided by the bank officers. Local Corporator Sheetal Kate appealed to women to take advantage of the training of self-help camp. Study plan by PCMC officials for HCMTR project I n the month of February, scheduled High Capacity Mass Transport Route (HCMTR) from Kokane Chowk to Swaraj Garden was scrutinized by Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s Former Commissioner Rajeev Jadhav. Four months after former Municipal Com- missioner Rajeev Jadhav presented the draft budget in which a high capacity tram service, mono rail or a light rail were suggested as mass transit projects. The PCMC is working on a plan to have one of the three projects on a 30-m wide circular high capacity mass transit route with the distance of 29km. During the presentation of the Rs 3, 982 crore draft budget for 2016-17, a tram service was one of the ideas tabled by Jadhav. He had said that if the tram project materializes, Pim- pri Chinchwad may become the first city in the State to have such a facility in modern times. In Rahatani and Kokane Chowk, the length of the HCMTR project is two kilometre and width is 30 metre. Various entertainment mediums are included in this project for all age groups. According to the officials, around 35% of the land is reserved for high-capacity transit. The 29km-stretch passes from Bhakti Shakti Chowk, Tata’s material gate in Chinchwad, Rose Garden in Nehrunagar, Nashik Phata, Kokane Chowk, Rahatni, Thergaon, Walheka- rwadi and later to Spine Road to reach Bhakti Shakti Chowk in Nigdi.

Tree plantation drive by Mayur

KalateA tree plantation program by Nationalist Con-

gress Party Leader Mayur Kalate was held at
