AntennAware Attitude Sensor (AAS) Patented Sensor Ensures QoS of Wireless Networks

OverviewThe AntennAware Attitude Sensor (AAS) monitoring solution from Sunsight Instruments usespatented technology to help ensure wireless networks maintain their original RF designs. Theresult is the most cost-effective method of pro-actively detecting network problems, therebyimproving QoS, optimizing network performance, and reducing costly customer churn.

Simple, economical, and compact, the AAS can be permanently mounted on a single antennaor fully integrated into an antenna array. Measurements can be transmitted over an AISG interface to a compatible RET controller or vendor NMS, so results can be seen anywhere andat any time. For large installations, AAS can be daisy-chained with other AISG-compliant devices.

Performance HighlightsMaximizes Network Investment – The AAS is an inexpensive, highly reliable method to help protect the multi-million dollar investment associated with a wireless network by ensuring antenna alignment, so broadband networks deliver to design capacity. It helps improve on-going CINR, control HARQ issues, and ensure networks meet or exceed established KPIs.

Optimizes Network Performance – With the AAS on your tower, you are assured that networkcoverage matches your original RF design. Using advanced alignment techniques, it tracks latitude, longitude and sun measurements to measure azimuth to +/-1.0° accuracy, and has highly sensitiveaccelerometers to measure downtilt and real time antenna “plumb” to +/-0.25° accuracy.

Simplifies Troubleshooting – The AAS detects when antennas shift out of alignment during the antenna’s life, which makes troubleshootingmuch easier and cost efficient by eliminating the need for engineers and technicians to review all sites in a problem area.

No Moving Parts – The AAS is highly reliable, as it has no moving parts that can break or deteriorate over time.

Improves Data Collection – Information, such as antenna sway, collected by the AAS can be sent over an AISG interface to a compatible controller, NMS BTS vendor or laptop computer. This allows users to locate trends by analyzing historical data.

Antenna Attitude Sensor Lite (AASL)For applications that require only real-time monitoring of antenna tilt and roll, Sunsight offers the Antenna Attitude Sensor Lite (AASL). Lightweight, inexpensive, and easy-to-install, AASL offers excellent performance and high durability in environments that require up-to-the-minute data updates.
