I am currently undergoing the NCARB accreditation process and have completed approximately 85% of the requirements towards completion. I am prepared to begin testing for licensure.
Interests
I have many hobbies and passions including graphic design, photography, interior design, snowboarding, live music, cars and motorcycles, biking, ping pong, and craft beer. All of those are important but my true passions lie within golf and football. When I’m not at work or with my wife and dog, I’m probably out on the golf course or taking in a Bronco’s game.

I was a principal member of a project team that was awarded this prestigious top honors award at the Federal Planning Division Conference for space planning, design and utilization of existing space for an airfield development planning project at RAF Lakenheath, UK.
I was awarded this honor as part of the Montana State University School of Architecture Graduation Ceremony for work I had done in the completion of my graduate thesis. It was awarded to me as a result of voting by the MSU Architectural faculty and my student peers.

Fall Semester- Urban Design, Chicago, ILRefurbishing a large, desolate and abandoned post office while also connecting it to the vitalizing shores of Lake Michigan.
Spring Semester- Thesis, Bozeman , MTMotion.Rest. - An exploration in how architecture can help blur the lines between life and death through various forms of meditation, cleansing, porosity, and the celebration of motion and rest.
Awards
Over the past two years I have worked on a variety of unique projects at Sink Combs Dethlefs, which has given me valuable experience in a range of projects and architectural design. Working on a large and complex project for the University of Michigan has allowed me to grow as a professional and given me experience in project management, BIM management, multi discipline coordination as well as partner firm and client coordination. Valuable experience has also been gained working with the contractor and being involved in construction costs discussions, value engineering, multiple construction documents and bid packages, and construction administration.
I have also expanded my skill set by providing multiple graphics packages for high level clients and universities. These packages were supplemental design packages that helped transform spaces to tell a story or emphasize client branding through custom displays, graphic wall imagery, creative finishes, lighting, and brand theming. Doing this work gave me the opportunity to explore both of my passions of architecture and graphic design.

Sink Combs Dethlefs , Denver, CO

The Athletics’ South Campus at the University of Michigan is the existing home to several varsity sports including Tennis, Wrestling, Gymnastics, and Soccer. Each of these sports has dedicated facilities in the area. The project featured on these pages was designed to create a consolidated hub for new and exist-ing team sports on the campus, as well as provide new facilities, training space, and competition venues. Among the new buildings being built on the site are indoor and outdoor track venues with accompanying fields and stadiums, a lacrosse team center and stadium, an indoor rowing facility, a new performance center including a large strength & conditioning center, a sports performance lab, and a state of the art athletic medicine facilities that will serve the roughly 400 student athletes that will train and compete on the Athletics’ South Campus. This project was 605,000 square feet and was split into four different venues; the Sports Performance Center, the Indoor Track Stadium, the Outdoor Track Stadium, and the Lacrosse Stadium. I was involved in all four of these projects from design development all the way through construction administration.

The Indoor Track facility is connected to the Sports Performance Center, creating a hub of for athletics on the south campus of the University of Michigan. Programmatically this facility offers a state of the art hydraulic banking track, indoor training and competition throwing area, a 3,500 seating capacity stadium, as well as track athletic offices and a track and field hall of fame. Throughout the course of design I was responsible for all track related buildings and items and became a job captain for the Indoor and Outdoor track venues. Job duties included researching complex track surfaces and equipment, reviewing products with vendors and experts, creating and coordinating drawings with multiple disciplines and partner architecture firms, conducting various meetings with the client, head track coaches and athletic representatives, and coordinating with the CMGC to create a project that was on budget and met a demanding clients’ needs. Apart from these duties I was also in charge of other bid package deliverables which included a Sports Graphics and Environmental Design package, and a Code Required and Way Finding Signage package for all four projects.

The Saint Louis University Chaifetz Arena is home to the university’s varsity men’s and women’s basketball teams as well as women’s volleyball. Sink Combs Dethlefs was hired to update both men’s and women’s locker rooms, and design a unique players lounge connected to each locker room. In addition to renovating locker rooms, I was given the task to revitalize existing corridors and a practice gym via a sports graphics package and interior re-design. These updated spaces would provide excitement to the once dull entry sequence and athlete lockers, and would build on athletic brand strength in an area that is used by athletes, coaches and athletics employees. These areas also serve important club members and potential new recruits, so it was important to the university that a strong message was given about core values and objectives, while also generating enthusiasm about university athletics. During the course of design, I was in charge of all graphics package and design elements. I also provided assistance in programmatic layouts for lockers and lounges, locker design, and client coordination.

Locker Room Renovation and Graphics PackageCurrently In Design
For this project our team was asked to create a conceptual plan and design for a baseball and soccer sports complex on a piece of property on the North end of Colorado Springs. The design was to include multiple sized sporting fields along with a professional sized baseball stadium, a soccer stadium, a recreation center, and an indoor football complex. The goal was to give the client marketing material of a modern sports complex to show potential investors or fund raisers to get them excited about the project. My role in this project was to conceptually design all the facilities and then render the product into exciting marketing materials.

The goal of the Blue Dot Place Lofts is to create a complex for highly desired affordable downtown living in Colorado Springs. This project will be one of the first affordable living establishments in the downtown area in over a decade and it aspires to create a more diverse neighbourhood while injecting a spark of renovation in a previously blighted area. I was fortunate to be able to contribute to this project by laying out the six unique interior units during the design development stage, and then following through to help complete the construction document set for the entire building.

The University Center at University of Colorado - Colorado Springs had a heavily trafficked and unsightly rear entry that needed an update to match the high design standards of the Colorado University system. I contributed by creating various design options that created a more inviting entry, while keeping the existing wheel chair ramp, and matching aesthetically with the entrance on the opposite side of the building. After a preferred concept was chosen I helped by put together the construction document set.

Colorado Springs Science CenterConceptual Design Colorado Springs, CO
The Colorado Springs Science Center Project is a local initiative to gain funding for a local science center in the downtown area. I was tasked to create a conceptual museum design and then create visuals for marketing materials. The goal was to create something that was unique to Colorado Springs and yet different from the current architecture around the city.
Aspinwall is a master planned low income housing community developed in multiple stages, just outside of Boulder, CO. The Aspinwall phase consisted of the design of various duplexes and multi- family units, resulting in nine different unit types configured into eight separate building types. This was a fun and challenging project to be a part of as it was a great learning experience on how to coordinate drawings as a team for a project with so many different models. I was able to contribute to the construction document phase and help with construction administration.
