The Dodd-Frank Act was aimed at big banks, but its crippling legaland administrative costs have caused many small banks to close or
reduce lending which has harmed local economies and made itincreasingly difficult for small businesses and entrepreneurs to thrive.

Dodd Frank created a new type of bailout fund for big banks calledOrderly Liquidation Authority. Instead of requiring big banks to gothrough the same bankruptcy shutdown procedures as all other
companies in America, banks are allowed an exception to the rulesthrough OLA.
Before the Dodd-Frank Act, over 75% of banks offered freechecking. However after the Dodd-Frank regulations took affect
only 39% now offer free checking.
Many experts say that the Dodd-Frank Act was aimed at Wall Streetbut hit Main Street.
Most traditional banks are not willing to make small dollar loans. Thisleaves many working families with no option to cover unexpected short
term expenses except for the lifeline of taking out a short term loan.1462 -48
