THE TIME TABLE DILEMMA AND POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS

CURRENT TIME TABLE (APPLICABLE FROM TODAY):

    Timings B.B.A. B.Sc. B.P.Sc.

8.00-8.50 MFS Chemistry CrPC8.55-9.45 CrPC PIL

    9.45-10.40

    10.40-11.30 PIL Company Law

    11.35-12.25 Company Law Evidence

    12.25-1.30

    1.30-2.20 Evidence C&S/Psychology

    2.25-3.15 SM/CRM/FA Life Sciences Economics

    3.20-4.10 SM/CRM/FA Lab

As a solution to the above, I suggest that we submit a petition to the concerned authorities

with the following models as our proposed alternatives:

    PROPOSED TIME TABLE-A

The time-table that we follow currently is one model that we can propose. Objectively

speaking, its the best model we have, since it gives ample scope for people to attend morning

classes easily. However, certain issues are there because of which the administration would

    not approve it

    a. Apparently, Joshi ji went and complained to the VC/Registrar that hes losing out on

his usual breakfast earnings as most of the people didnt have breakfast when the

classes started at 9.20 am. That is one of the reasons that this new time table has beenintroduced.

    b. It seems that a petition had been submitted by certain college students to the

concerned authorities for the advancement of timings. Now that they have agreed to

the same, they wont be willing to go back to the old time table, as they have acted on

    our request.

    c. Also, as you must have seen, the library timings havent exactly been extended

according to our expectations, thereby not giving us more time to access the library

(for those who require the same).

    PROPOSED TIME TABLE-B

    Timings B.B.A. B.Sc. B.P.Sc.

    8.00-8.50 MFS Chemistry CrPC

    8.55-9.45 CrPC PIL

    10.20-11.10 PIL Company Law

    11.10-12.00 Company Law Evidence

    12.05-12.55 Evidence C&S/Psychology

In this time table, the following benefits are available to us:

    1. B.Sc students can get their Life Science classes advanced on those days when they

dont have Chemistry Lab/Life Science Lab. That way, they would be free for the dayat 1.50 pm. Also, they would only have to sit for 4 classes before lunch.

    2. Similarly, the B.P.Sc students can get their Economics classes done during the official

lunch timings as per the above time-table from 1.00-1.50 pm (as has been indicated).

They would be free for the day after that.

    3. B.B.A. students will get free at 12.55 pm on the days where they dont haveCRM/FA/SM.

    4. I personally believe that 35 minutes is sufficient time for lunch and breakfast,

considering that only 2 batches (ours and 2nd year students) would be eating lunch in

this time slot, thereby reducing the crowd by 200-250 students (the new time table has

set 2 separate time slots for lunch and breakfast one for our batch and the 2 nd year

students, and one for the 1st, 4th and 5th year students. This has been done to reduce the

crowd in the mess during the two meals).

In case the college authorities refuse to accept either of the above models (which I think is

highly probable) over the new one, we can work out an arrangement with our subject teachers

wherein we can implement the proposed time-table B by ourselves, unofficially. We still

enjoy all the benefits stated above, irrespective of what the authorities decide.

As much as I want Proposal A to be implemented, I think it would be easier to convince

the authorities to implement Proposal B. I know that the thought of waking up in the

morning is too painful, but we may have to live with that, in case we end upimplementing Proposal B unofficially. So please consider these problems when you sign

    the petition on Tuesday.
