Empowering both teachers and students with our valuable educational re-sources which include: readers, textbooks, support materials etc. Introducing and familiarizing the students, parents and the teachers to new resources that are available in the market and how these resources can en-hance reading in the classroom. Helping school in their endeavour to “Raise Readers”.

NCERT launches its Web Portal for supply of NCERT Textbooks

Shri Upendra Kushwaha, Minister of State, Ministry of Human Resource Devel-
opment, Government of India has launched a NCERT’s Web portal for supply of
textbooks to schools and individuals in New Delhi today. The portal will ensure
better distribution of textbooks across the country and will also address the ap-
prehensions, on the part of schools and parents, regarding unavailability of
NCERT textbooks. The schools will be able to log on to the portal, by entering
their respective Boards’ affiliation numbers and other details, till 8th September
2017 for placing their orders for the session 2018-19. The Web Portal can be
accessed at www.ncertbooks.ncert.gov.in.
Very soon the portal will also be opened to the individual buyers. They can place
their orders by login in onto the portal, and books will be delivered at their door-
steps with nominal postal charges. The portal will also enable the buyers to track
the status of their respective orders placed with NCERT.
Union Government launches POCSO e-box…
POCSO e-box is an online complaint management system for easy and direct reporting of sexual offences against children
and timely action against offences against children and timely action against offenders under POCSO Act, 2012.
It is an initiative of National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), for Direct online Reporting of Child
Sexual Abuse .
The e-Box is incorporated in the home page of National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) website

The user can lodge a complaint by pressing the arrow on this page which navigates to another page where he/ she has to
select at least one picture option (describing the category of harassment).
User also needs to fill the form with details such as e-mail, mobile number and description of the harassment in order regis-

Indian School Library Association (ISLA)
Mission of ISLA
The mission of the Indian School Library Association (ISLA) is to provide a national forum for those people interested in promoting effective school library media programs as viable instruments in the educational process. ISLA also provides guidance and advice for the development of school library programs and the school library profession. ISLA works in cooperation with other professional asso-ciations and agencies.
Membership is nationwide, and includes school librarians, teachers, librarians, library advisers, con-sultants, educational administrators, and others who are responsible for library and information ser-vices in schools. The membership also includes professors and instructors in universities and col-leges in India where there are programmes for school librarians, and students who are undertaking such programmes.
Affiliation
Indian School Library Association (ISLA) is affiliated to International Association of School Librarian-ship (IASL)
Current Status
The official registration of ISLA is under processing. The Association will formally start functioning very soon.
