QIYAM AT KHIZRA MOSQUE

WEEKEND ACTIVITIES AT KHIZRA MOSQUE

We held a mosque open day on Sunday 3rd March 2019 where we had many visitors come and attend and visit this mosque and learn about Islam and try to remove any misconceptions. There were mosque tours, refreshments, nasheed performance, talks and an exhibition. We regularly host guests at the centre and if anyone is interested in visiting the Centre either as an individu-al or a group or an institute then please email us on visit@khiz-ramasjid.org

MASJID NEWS ACTIVITIES

Feed the homeless project and help the needy monthly food drop to homeless shelter, last weekend of the month.

Monthly health awareness sessions and health check and advice sessionsAFAK hifz, Quran, Arabic and other Quran studies for women only from Monday to Thursday.

Breakfast, activities & health check session for the homeless and destitute every last Saturday of the month 9am-10.30am (community hall).

This evening Debate Club pupils from Khizra Mosque attended Manchester Youth Council (MYC) Debate club session held at Manches-ter library recently. The motion debated for the evening pertained to the suitability of mandatory school uniform. Both sides argued passionately to defend or oppose the motion.

Debate Club pupils were able to observe and participate in the session, this opportunity has inspired them.

DEBATE CLUB

Our volunteers took benefit of the better weather few weeks ago and had a session of the gardening club where they helped clean the garden and plant some seeds near the garden of peace at Khizra. We also had our health talk with a specialist on kidney disease which was well received and beneficial. Thank you.

Long life food items delivered to homeless at the Booth centre by Khizra Mosque volunteers recently again. Thank you to everyone for the donations and the drop off. Helping the homeless. Youth from Khizra Mosque also prepared packs with sleeping bags, thermal under garments, gloves, warm hats and socks which will be distrib-uted by the homeless project manchester on Sunday. Well done to all.

HELP THE HOMELESS AT KHIZRA MOSQUE

This evening Debate Club pupils from Khizra Mosque attended Manchester Youth Council (MYC) Debate club session held at Manchester library recently. The motion debated for the evening pertained to the suitability of mandatory school uniform. Both sides argued passion-ately to defend or oppose the motion. Debate Club pupils were able to observe and participate in the session, this opportunity has inspired them.

Khizra Mosque sisters held a breakfast buffet at a restaurant recently as a socialising and sisters team building event and had an excellent time and were able to socialise and meet other sisters. We had a great turnout of around 50 sisters with excellent feedback. Well done to the team for arranging this and attending. We hope to do similar events for sisters on a regular basis.

Recently at Khizra Mosque we celebrated international women’s day with an event around inspirational women in Islam and a health awareness session on the importance of breast screening. We had over 120 women attend today and this was well received and beneficial. Well done to everyone.

Saturday 13th April 2019 at 6.30pm-spe-cial seminar for Ramadan with several speakers on preparing for Ramadan, physically & spiritually.

Saturday 27th April 2019 at 7.30pm- Ramadan event in Urdu with international nasheed artists and speakers.
