Kathleen Seitzinger We celebrate the life of Kathleen Seitzinger, 81, who passed away Feb. 21, 2012, in her Danville home. An Illinois resident for much of her early life, Kathleen, a daughter of Oscar and Esther Siebrasse, grew up on her parents' farm in Carbon Cliff where the family raised corn and soybeans as well as Arabian horses. Professionally, Kathleen's organizational skills and quick mind were put to good use in her career as an executive legal secre- tary at John Deere & Co.'s corporate offices, where she worked for nearly 40 years. Following her retire- ment, she and her hus- band, the late C.W. Seitzinger, custom-built their "dream home" in Danville because they truly enjoyed the friendly people and comfortable climate. Locally, Kathleen was a member of Trinity Episco- pal Church and an active member of the Streamland Club and Boyle County Homemakers for more than 20 years. She also served as their treasurer for a time. When not traveling around the country to sightsee and visit relatives, Kathleen was an avid seamstress, expertly tailor- ing many of her own suits. She also loved to garden, and to create and gift her colorful quilts and counted cross-stitch. Always up for an adventure, Kathleen learned to ski in her early 60s, and enjoyed visiting her New England relatives to practice this new skill. Animals were a constant comfort in her life, from the Arabian horses she helped raise to her beloved dogs. Kathleen will be re- membered for her gener- ous nature, her contagious laugh, her humility and her strong faith. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Grover Seitzinger; sister-in-law, JoAnne Siebrasse; two nieces, Carol Royce and Pamela Lester and her hus- band Garner; a nephew, Thomas Siebrasse and his wife Diane; five great- nieces, Kimberly Neiditz- Lester, Dianna Lester, Melissa Lester, Laurel Siebrasse and Alisa Siebrasse. She was pre- ceded in death by her brother, Richard Siebrasse, of Westport, Conn. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, with the Rev. Amy Meaux officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation be made to Danville-Boyle Humane Society, Kath- leen's favorite charity. Online guestbook at stithfuneralhome.net. Robert T.
